Why is the Cauldron Item from the vendor like over 50,000 gold?

Seriously. Is this a one time purchase or is it 50k for every cauldron? That’s a little insane.

oh shoot. That’s 100% my bad. Apologies!

Pretty sure the description says it’s returned to you after you make a batch, so one-time purchase.

After putting down the flask or potion cauldron, you get the 57k Crystalforged Cauldron back in your inventory as Warbound so you can make another with it (or send a work order to your alt with it, if your Alchemist isn’t who you want the completed potion/flask cauldron on).

57,000 Gold is still ridiculously steep.

I suspect the reason for the steep gold price is to discourage players from making 20 low-star cauldrons for leveling purposes, since by the time most groups get to all of them they would be wanting 2 or 3 star.

If it’s a reusable thing then you only pay it once, it doesn’t disincentivize that… it just massively increases the cost of making cauldrons… because… reasons?

I mean an exorbitant cost does create a disincentive. It doesn’t prevent it to be sure, but there are a lot of players who can’t or won’t drop a million gold on a singular vendor-bought mat with an item they won’t get use out of later and they can’t sell.

To be clear, I think it’s dumb, I’m not in support of the change. I’m just trying to guess at what the motivation for the change was.
