I never heard why the mobile app for the auction house was taken down. That was my primary source of gold.
Because there were too many bugs that made for exploits happening - aka too costly to maintain.

Straight from Ythisens on the old forums:
The Web/Mobile Auction had a lot more issues with keeping it up than it was really worth for the small amount of players that actually used it. Trying to tackle and fix those issues (for transparency the majority were just exploits) just takes dev time away from working on new content. While it may change in the future, we currently at this time aren’t planning to bring this back.

Not saying this justifies them taking it away, but I do seem to keep more gold in my bags now that I can’t buy pets from work…Just an observation.

I did that a lot too.
I do mis being able to manage the mission tables though.
It is nice to do BFA’s, but it would be wonderful if we could also do Legion and Warlords as well.

I used it every day. I still have legion resources to use for missions; it be nice to use the app for legion missions. I don’t have that much BFA resources right now.
It had some great features that are lacking in game.
Probably need you to log on the game to add up some hours for the monthly fun metric.
our spreadsheet says you haven’t been doing your dailies, so now you can get a 400 items for them
no auction house for you on phone though, this isn’t diablo 4
