Why is the alliance symbol a lion?

Northrend.

Yes, they’re Curse of Flesh’d vrykul.

So yeah, vrykul. Like I said. I wanted to know more about that though.

  • Vrykul started having weaker and smaller children.
  • Yimron says the gods have abandoned them, declares himself god-king, and orders the weaker children killed.
  • Some parents aren’t willing to do it and send their weak children into hiding instead.
  • Those children grow into the human race.

Same reason hordes symbol is a toilet seat. It is what represents us best as a faction.

Even tho I doubt horde knew what toilet seats looked like either.

Well that’s a lot less interesting than I was hoping for.

it should be a wolf, cause worgen run the show

In Warcraft III it seemed that the Humans knew about Kalimdor, but it wasn’t a place they went to often. When Medivh warns King Tereneas to travel to Kalimdor, Terenas doesn’t go “Where? What are you talking about?” but it’s more like “Yeah, I know where you’re talking about, but we have no reason to believe we should.” instead.

They were allies with the High Elves. It’s entirely possible the High elves, who lived long enough that their exile was only a few generations ago, said “hey there’s a continent across the sea to the west, but it’s full of xenophobic pricks who will kill you for even thinking about magic so don’t go there.”

By what right does the wolf judge the lion?!

" The lion is a common charge in heraldry. It traditionally symbolises courage, nobility, royalty, strength, stateliness and valour, because historically the lion has been regarded as the “king of beasts”."

That’s why, because the alliance represents courage, nobility, royalty, strength, stateliness, and valour

On the same topic…what’s the horde symbol? A horseshoe? So what does this say about the horde?

EDIT: Horde’s horseshoe symbol means “tribe”.

The guild guy sells lion mounts, meaning somewhere they have a load of them in breeding/training and then make mounts for alliance races as they ask.

Why isn’t it just a cute photo of all of us in front of the auditorium?

I hear those cougars really have a thing for Anduin, too.

Because their women do all the real, important work.

That’s why I liked Warcraft 2, how they made each kingdom of the Alliance unique; https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/1mqpjg/for_those_interested_the_old_school_flags_and/

Which is a total lie given how male lions don’t do the hunting and can sometimes be fought off by all the lady lions

Pegasus with a unicorn horn the ultimate horse.

Except male lions do hunt, with and without a pride.
