There is like very little to do in WoW right now at least they could of added the new raid at patch launch and give people something to do instead of a few quest lines that will take less than an hour.

Because people kept complaining about having to do things prior and in order to combat people doing on the content on a Sunday afternoon and knowing people would go mental if they go forced to do something they have to force them to wait instead

Attunement, at least it’s content. I’d rather have quests leading up to the opening and release date of a raid rather than just log in with nothing and be told to wait.

I think it has more to do with not releasing it during holidays. Remember the blowback from the world first race last Xmas? Bosses not tuned and buggy and no one on deck to hot fix it.

They want you doing Faction Incursions and Paragon rep quests. There are faction-separate toys/pets to collect (so 2x the work)… and uh… stuff to do.
Honestly, when making these threads you should be clear and say “There is like very little I WANT to do in WoW right now…”

Whats the point of this stuff again?
Uldir has only been out for 3 months, which would be insanely short to scrap it for an entire new raid.
Even Jan 22 is only 4.5 months which is pretty normal.
Also also releasing a brand new raid right before the holidays is asking for trouble.

They probably didn’t want people to feel like they HAD to raid over the holidays.

Also, they don’t want people feeling they have to blow through all the new content inside six hours to prepare for the new raid. They want to give us all time to enjoy it.
The reason Uldir wasn’t available when BfA launched is much the same thing. Imagine you’re in a mythic raid guild. Launch day you have to level up to 120 and gear as high as you can as fast as you can to start clearing the raid immediately. No time to explore, read quest text, test out your new gear, or do any of the first day/week stuff most people want to do.
The idea is to space things out a bit so no one feels too rushed.

For many guilds at various levels of play, working through a tier is a long term goal taking weeks or months. Sure, they could finish it on normal the night of release and and just wait for the release of the next tier, but there’s not a lot of depth or satisfaction to that. At this point in the tier, many guilds are done, but there are plenty that aren’t, and even some who appreciate a break.

although most times, lately, the raid has had a staggered release. i believe in part its so the raid ties in with the Seasonal structure they’re trying to keep with PvP and Mythic+.
i’d also wager it may be a little bit to do with the Christmas holidays, as its possible with Christmas, that many people will be away with friends and family, and many guilds tend to take a break over the holiday season too.
i feel dropping a raid release during this time can lead to inconveniences for people and guilds .

I don’t know about you, but with my guild, about half of the usual raid team is going to be gone during the latter half of the month with holidays, or just generally unable to gather for raid times. Pushing back the release date of the raid avoids that issue, not everyone’s guild works the same but I’m going to leave you with this little nugget here.
December 25th this year is on a Tuesday, yes a reset day. Do you really believe the families of raiders would tolerate raiding that day. Wife aggro/significant other aggro/family aggro, or whatever you want to call it would be at all time high.
