I thought it was a fun light-hearted video that admittedly was not as good as the last one that they did… But I still enjoyed it.

I have no idea why people are bringing “social justice” into this as it didn’t even register with me. Seems like a weird thing to claim apropos of seemingly nothing.

nah just cutting costs so bobby can get a fifth Yatch

Likely numerous reasons.

It’s a bards take on WoW TBC similar, in my opinion anyway, to “Toss a coin to your witcher” which isn’t for everyone.

Personally I think the SJW aspect is likely pushing people away from more than any other singular aspect.

And for those of you that don’t know, Ron Pearlman is a foaming at the mouth political poster. His Twitter is just angry exaggerated claims about conservatives. Conservatives make up about half of the population in America. Hiring someone who clearly hates half of the population might have negative consequences.

This is why I think life is better if you’re not on twitter and don’t pay attention to it at all. (it’s possible! I do it) I didn’t know that about Ron Pearlman… I assumed they got him for the celebrity clout or maybe because he played WoW at some point. Like the last one they did all the celebrity cameos were by people who admitted to playing the game at one point or another.

He ain’t in Classic or BC tho, so keep trying
or are you trying to say that brown people are the same as orcs ? LOL you racist

Holy yikes. You literally don’t like the video because of how many brown people and women are in it. It’s an almost comical level of casual racism/sexism.

Your argument is legit, “Because there are so many brown people/women, blizzard must just be hiring crap people to fill diversity quotas.” I.E. if they were truly picking the best people, they would have picked more white men.

Also, writers, directors, and producers with an SJW agenda… because there are brown people and women in a WoW ad. Give me a break.

The ad is a little cringy and also a little tone deaf given how they are milking TBC. Has absolutely nothing to do with the diversity of the cast or this perceived diversity of the writers.

This.

Not saying that I don’t have unconscious bias, but the racial/gender makeup of the cast in the video isn’t why I didn’t like it.

it was eh…
i could not see myself on anyone on the video so i feel unrepresented anyway

Honestly that word was played out after the first person said it.

Oh my goodness. THIS is the game I want to be playing. If only. Thank you for sharing it. I’ll have to check out their other trailers.

IMO, the reason so many people dislike Blizz’s video is because it shows in glaring clarity how thoroughly Blizzard has lost touch with its core Classic audience. We aren’t generation D. We aren’t even all millennials (xennial here). We’re a mixed bag of everything, most of us probably between 25 and 50, and we weren’t drawn to the game largely because of its comedic flippancy, flashy features, microtransactions, or current cultural relevance. We’re a bunch of nerds. We played the game because we loved the immersion and the atmosphere and the epic feel of WoW, and the way the game encouraged us to build up and develop our toons and then go take on impossible odds with our friends. That’s what draws us to the idea of Classic in the first place. It’s not just nostalgia; it’s the core essence of what WoW was before all the changes. We liked that. It appealed to us. STILL DOES. If some company in the videogame market ever figures that out and creates a product with the characteristics that captured WoW’s main player base in the first place, they will make a MINT. Sadly, at this point, I very much doubt that company will be Blizzard.

But Garry is and he looks brown to me.

Super cringey. And they could have used all that money to pay people to fix bugs instead of a pointless music video.

Who actually, unironically believes that orcs are an allegory for black people?

Because us WoW players are bitter and whiney little babies.

The most simple but truest answer in this thread.

Get a job.

This isn’t it at all lol. They made the same type of video for Classic. But better. This one just wasn’t that good.

LOL what?

I promise you I make more money than you and your entire family combined. Get a job and get out your moms basement.
