Most Dungeon / Raid Bosses all have AOE abilities which are the real danger to the raid, not a tank dying.
The most a Tank has to do in a Raid, is move the boss around “which a dps player can do” and taunt back and forth. “not a very extreme skill”
Tanks are Raid KILLERS. If a tank has to leave regardless of the reason, an entire pug clears out. Also because nobody is locked to the raid, it is more of a reason it will fail. I am so tired of pugging 5 raids just for 1 week of heroic.
Waiting for tanks is also another reason why their absolutely unnecessary in this game. Putting together a raid is horrible when everyone is there waiting for 2 people who literally are getting carried to finally join. Just so they can hold the entire health of the group in their hands afterwards.
All of my hate aside, I have tanked almost every single expansion to date. Not a single time did I notice how horrible of a plague the role Tank was on the entirety of this game.
Going DPS really made it clear. I could be 620 ilvl if I was tank, Ide get invite to everything almost regrdless of my Ilvl. I mean, I could be an absolute trashcan and still get invite because of the shield next to my name.
Remove Tank role, Save this game.
This game would be 100% better if a DPS could be designated Aggro target since most classes have a taunt anyways.
I have literally held that belief since Cata that healer role is entirely made up, and each player already hold the key to their own survival which is good placement, and use of their entire spell kit.
Okay, well if you are going to be here for awhile. you should explain why tank should stay instead of letting me know I cant stop you from using the internet lol
I was for my entire life in WoW, I went ret because questing was a drag this expansion. Then I realized the entire game was on slow mode because of how pugging is entirely devoted to 2 players out of 25.
You could argue that healers can be eliminated as well. Or really, why have “roles” at all? Just let players decide what spells they want to cast when the need arises.
