It seems like survival is the only spec that is missing from tuning and tweaks. For real, it seems like every other spec has been and is getting tuned except them.
Blizz can’t seriously think the survival is in a good spot right now, could they?

It does feel bad to see them touch almost every spec in the game but us. My hope is that its because they have a further down the road update for them that is not ready yet.
If they are working on bigger changes for them it would make sense why are are being excluded from all the updates to the other specs.
My theory is they are leaving it untouched and underperforming like they did in WoD for a major rework.
Because they forgot surv is a spec lol. Jokes aside, blizz is trash when it comes to fixing things. Not uncommon for them to let a spec go a whole xpack dead to give it the attention it needed in the next xpack
You have my attention… where would you like Blizzard to touch you?
Hunters in general are getting shafted again
Two lesser-used MM legendaries just got buffed and every BM legendary just got buffed pretty significantly. I don’t think hunter’s in general are getting shafted but survival is definitely being ignored right now. I really really hope this means that more substantial changes are coming soon but we can only hope.
Can you link the notes?
Front page. Old stuff is marked in red, new changes in bright green.
I honestly suspect this is the case. Keep in mind, SV also got pretty much zero changes going into SL as well.
Terribly poor showing here Blizzard.
It’s bad enough being ignored by other players, but being ignored by the development team is insulting.
If there’s changes for SV in the gears but they’re not ready for PTR, then tell us that. If you’re not caring too much about the balance of Survival because a rework is planned (as it should be - it’s consistently bottom-two for least popular specs) then tell us that. Stop leaving your damn players in the dark all the time.
Blizzard are experts at failing to communicate. It’s the only thing they do well these days, infact.
Its been that way since SL Alpha pretty much.
We’ve had a grand total of like 5 changes over the whole xpac
One was a talent adjustment
The second was another talent adjustment
I can’t even remember what the 3rd was because it was so minor
And an aura buff of 5% which didn’t do anything because everyone else got a buff
I have no idea what these guys are thinking
Like the cole slaw that time forgot, SV is not in a good spot. Best to pretend it’s still not in the fridge…
It was our pets can eat shadowland meats
If survival doesnt see any meaningful changes atleast fix the broken classes and specs…paaaaaalease blizzard, kinda fighting the ladder with 2 hands behind our backs atm.
So glad we lost the greatest spec in the game for this forgotten melee dumpster fire.
New Survival hunter change 10 second bake a cake pet rez
Funny but Ion plays a Resto Shaman, and they’re doing pretty damn good.
My guess is something will happen in 9.1.
I wish they would unlink weapon requirements from SV signature abilities. As a master of survival, seems like you aught to be adaptable to whatever type of weapon you want to use. There are so many things they could add/reincorporate that aren’t melee specific; Caltrops, Immolation Trap, some kind of sticky bomb, Black Arrow, Wyvern Sting, Exotic Munitions (in a way that benefits melee as well), etc. Also, some damage reduction CDs, like a disarm (maybe attached to a pet, like old Snatch), OLD Deterrence (increased dodge), or whatever. There are plenty of options to really flesh this out, rather than the half-realized archetype we currently possess.
I doubt they ever do that just for the simple reason they don’t want to make all the animations for all of them. If you’ve noticed over the years the devs keep reducing the amount of stuff they need to work on and try to simplify as much as they can from a design point.
Don’t most (if not all) of these animations already exist in some form or another? For a ranged version of something like Raptor Strike, all they would do is make the projectile a different color - not exactly a high-maintenance change.
