Seriously, its still not granting credit for the kill towards the quest, still haven’t gotten excavation projects due it not giving me credit for killing the rare that spawns. Which in turn means I cannot access my BiS gem at this moment in time due to it being bugged still.

Blizzards programmers have the next two weeks off. Unless there is an actual emergency and the game stops working we are stuck with this until the new year. The hotfix they pushed out last week shouldn’t have gone out with them knowing no one would be around when it did the inevitable and screwed things up.
All video game companies I’ve worked for give their programmers two weeks off around christmas / new years. A few non-video game companies also do it too.
Yeah, well I made a post about I solution I think I found using the vendors, still silly that they even released the gems like they did initially.
This is another “side effect” of the “Saga” direction that’s been taken on the game. Speed comes at the price of quality.
Not to be negative nancy, but you should start to redefine your expectations about patches going forward, if you haven’t already. They aren’t going to come out polished at all anymore.

Because Blizzard doesn’t work on the weekend, the hotfix was put out after their end of day Friday, and no one cared enough about the bug before the hotfix to actually bring it to anyone’s attention
I’m hoping they fix it on Tuesday anyways.
Shuddering Hollow was bugged even before the hotfix.
I’m fine with people having holidays off, I think the odd part to me is why put out the patch when they did? Either do it a eeek earlier so you have a full week to fix bugs before everyone goes on break… or wait til after new years when people will be around to fix bugs.

I 100% guarantee that if there were some type of massive gold or experience earning glitch and we were having an amazing time instantly leveling alts and making millions of easy gold, they’d fix it in a heartbeat lol
It’s just that bugs making us miserable aren’t on the same priority track as bugs that could hurt their profits.

bump - still an issue
My only advice to people is sit on that cave for a good while. Kill the boss every time it’s up and don’t go further than the entrance. I got awarded mine randomly while sitting out front after trying all the supposed working methods. I’d say I spent an hour just on that event without leaving and got both
