Pet classes can’t do this quest
idiot tuskarr doesn’t give you credit for skinning if your pet gets the killing blow. I’ve killed 5 salamanthers and have credit for two.
This shouldn’t still be broken 9 months into the expansion.

I don’t think it’s broken just for pet classes. I’m trying to do this on a boomkin - there are no pets, just me. I’ve now killed 11 salamanthers and got credit for 1.

MY theory is , if you kill a salamanther and a vorquin for example , the walrus wont skin the salamanther. And of course there are all manner of birds and critters that get killed accidentally, but I did this with my mage last night frostbolting and had no issues.

On my warlock, dismissing my pet did seem to fix it.
For the boomkin- do you have talents like Denizen of the Dream? Maybe the pet thing is a red herring but it did seem to fix things for me.

hey Blizzard, if you’re not going to bother fixing this obviously broken as f world quest maybe you should change the name to something a bit more fitting? like Salamanther’s $hitlist?

It’s mid January and you still don’t get credit for the kill if your pet does the killing blow. Really annoying for demonology warlocks that constantly have imps attacking

Still broken. But thanks to this thread, I dismissed my pets and was able to complete the quest.

Was still broken yesterday when I did this on my Hunter. I was BM spec at the time, switched to SV and dismissed pet, was able to complete. Irritating.
