Why is RWF a thing?

I don’t get it. Does anyone really care about this besides those few competing guilds?

People just like watching these dudes beat their heads against super ultra hard bosses. If you know what’s going on then it’s even better.

Why is basketball a thing?

Why is football a thing?

Why do Europeans legit kill each other over soccer?

People like competitive things, and they enjoy watching the top tier of things they’re passionate about.

I guess it’s a spectator sport. I hear that eSports are really big in some places although I’ve never actually met an eSport fan.

Question is, if there are eSport fans does that mean there will be Fantasy eSport on ESPN any time soon?

Pretty sure there already is

They televise a “world series” of poker…

There are audiences for just about anything.

I always enjoy watching the AWC tournaments in awe. Those dudes are on another level.

Hope that helps. Pretty sure you were looking for validation for your crabbiness, but I hope you’re amenable to data / facts?

It’s actually fun to watch.

As a nerd it’s very entertaining to me.

And you don’t have to.

Plenty of us do.

Hope this helps.

Money and publicity Content gets designed around those esports teams for that reason.

It makesn sense to pay attention/be aware of it if you are a raider.

The viewership is surprisingly large.

Someone’s got to clear it first, and there’s enough people interested to watch that happen.

it’s a community hosted event & not an official blizzard one, hence why there aren’t tournament realms.

There is a market for nearly about anything you can call competitive.

IMO, its always entertaining to watch something that people have put a lot of resources into, I don’t raid at all but I’m interested in the series.

Maybe that’s the reason why I don’t get it. Also until I started reading the forums I never even heard of RWF. None of my WoW friends seem to care about it either.

I just looked. No ESPN Fantasy eSport. It’s all football, basketball and baseball and hockey. All pro. Women’s for BB only. There are things like college brackets but no Fantasy eSport.

it serves as a great tool to pad out your forum ignore list, a litmus test if you will.

People could say they don’t get why you play World of Warcraft as well. Or any video games. Or any hobby. You could make these statements about literally anything. I don’t get why people act pretentious like the things they like and enjoy, or how they spend their time, are better than anyone else.
