Why is Rebuke's range so short?

I recently have been playing my pally a bit more recently and I’ve noticed that rebuke (kick) has a really short range compared to the rest of the melee buttons.

Is there any reason that rebuke has the shortest range out of all of the melee abilities? it feels clunky … I have to step in to basically kiss to mob for it to connect.

Rebuke has the same range as any other melee kick.

Ret is a melee spec despite the range on some of its abilities.

It momentarily had 3 additional yard in DF following the rework but in TWW Blizzard made a crackdown on beyond melee kicks and attacks to remove them.

Which is understandable and legitimate…
If only they also put the effort on making range indicator show the actual hitbox of mobs and bosses.

It seems like a bug. Unless crusader strike as hpal has some kind of extended range I don’t know about.

They should return the extra range, that was fun. having to run in to kick when crusader strike still works at the range I was standing at feels really bad

Rebuke and auto attack (for paladins only) should have a 200yd range

All melee should have the extra 3y range on kicks baseline. It’s annoying when a casts goes through because you weren’t standing pixel perfect in range to kick. Mobs have varying sizes both in volume and hitbox, so it can be hard to see if you’re actually in range of a mob. This is exacerbated by having to use stacking nameplates, and the closest mob isn’t the closest nameplate, meaning you can’t rely on the mob location based on the nameplate location.

It’s an annoying problem that shouldn’t exist.

I agree – but I don’t understand why I can press crusader strike but not rebuke from standing in the same place. This is something I’ve noticed since the launch of the xpac.

But I do agree-- I frankly can’t stand to main melee dps unless I have extended range. I was heavily considering maining feral this xpac and had started to set up a character but when they removed the extended range I didn’t want to deal with that. Same thing with ret, though it wasn’t in my to-do. I don’t like how close I have to be to the mobs.

Sometimes this game can feel like that scene in Days of Thunder when the two guys are racing in their wheelchairs. I feel like movement is soooo sloooow. even playing ranged it is something I criticize in my head every session I play in this game
