Dear god why. Higher mana cost for less healing. It’d be nice to have some reason to use it, but insofar as I can tell even when juiced up with as many talent points as I can possibly use to buff it up (Circle of healing → Prayer Circle for reduced cost and prayerful litany) it still sucks.
holy priest’s tuning is wack in general rn, 2 rather iconic buttons (PoH and Renew) are both dogwater with very little if no practical applications for them, I’m praying (pun intended) that it gets some looking at soon
I did the math on it fully decked out in talents, 40% less total healing than flash heal and 40% more inefficient, and that’s if you take the faster cast and reduced mana cost, which means your circle of heal just got gutted hard. I wouldn’t mind it being very low mana cost, or a long channel where you get more bonuses for completing the channel, or have it buffed by your holy words (but that’s essentially putting it on cd in a different way). They can’t put it on cooldown because they already have 2 aoe skills to hit 5 ppl on cooldown.
At least Renew has very minor use advantages of casting it before a pull it on the run if out of instants. … hmmm Maybe they can let you cast prayer freely when running … prob still will only use it twice in each raid fight if I took it
I was talking to my guild about it and told them people have 6-7 mil health bars and PoH heals for 85,000 a cast and they all went dead silent. Like someone died.
I figure if priests aren’t going to have as much mobility or other utilities, they should at least have broad healing type coverage. I wish PoH was just exactly proportional to heal, just better when countering group wide lesser damage vs heal used for harder hitting single target damage. Make renew a budget rejuv so the resto druids don’t get jealous (maybe give it more mastery scaling or something, just for fun mastery interaction) and call it a day. I could at least die semi-happy that way.
If you pick all of the synergy talents with PoH, it can do okay hps with 4p. However, your mana just pours out with each cast and is completely inefficient compared to the popular tol/lightweaver spec or the CoH/Lightwell spec.
Give CoH a 6 second cool down, make it synergize with other spells in some way, balance it and delete PoH. Even it’s usefulness in resetting sanctify under apotheosis is now invalidated by the 4p and tol/lightweaver.
I use it during heroic queen. Helps a little when there is high movement and i cant hard cast due to positioning, at least its something and better than no heals. They should have incorporated Dragonflights Tier bonus that enhances PoM to apply renews.
Use Holy Nova, it does more healing than Renew even at 0 stacks and at least does some damage at the same time. Pretty nice for helping out with breaking roots and dpsing while running across the bridge but you are out of instants.
Same, I’m pulling 1m+ HPS on several of my parses in raid, and when I told my guild that once Blizzard “fixes” Halo, my HPS will drop by roughly 30-40%, they were pretty mind blown.
The ONLY reason why Holy Priest is on par with other healers in raid is because of a bugged Halo. – Blizzard knows this, that’s the only reason why it hasn’t been fixed since launch.
Something that would normally be considered “Game-Breaking” is what is balancing HPriest at the moment and that should tell everyone how bad Holy is at the moment.
It depends whether each pulse of Halo is a separate cast is actually considered a bug or not, because Divine Star also works the same way where it resets diminishing returns on healing when the projectile flies back to the caster.
Creates a ring of Holy energy around you that quickly expands to a 30 yd radius, healing allies for (161% of Spell power) and dealing [(144.2% of Spell power) * 1] Holy damage to enemies.
Healing reduced beyond 6 targets.
The Healing reduced beyond 6 targets is not happening. Its 100% healing for all targets.
If thats truly the case. Then it still proves how badly designed HPriests are at the moment if 20%+ of its healing is from a 2-min CD, where the vast majority is overheal.
