Two dropped last night and I almost got neither one because my need roll was “off-spec”.
Thankfully a guildy was generous enough to give me one as they had a normal version already but really, why?
Because it is a damage trinket.
It has zero defensive benefits.
If you want to do more damage as a tank set your role to “ret” a damage spec.

The equip effect:
[Sharpen your weapon with Elementium, giving your [melee damage dealer specialization’s main class ability] a chance to deal 20727 additional Shadowflame damage on-hit.]
It’s not just a str/agi trinket that does damage, it is a trinket specifically for str/agi melee dps.

It works for Prot though, it works on Hammer of the Righteous and Blessed Hammer.
So why is every other straight damage trinket from Aberrus on the loot table for Prot except the Anvil? Zaqali Chaos Grapnel, Call to Chaos, Beacon to the Beyond…
Unless you want to go run Vault for the trink from Dathea, the Anvil is the second best trinket for Prot this tier. Tank trinkets have been traps for years now.
Just one of those issues you’ll have to account for in the future, sadly. Thankfully, setting your Loot Specialization for that boss isn’t awful, but it should definitely be fixed in the future.
