Is blizzard incapable of writing a compelling storyline that kills off major lore characters? Why does sylvanas windrunner, who is the most overused and un-interesring anti hero in all of this games history, continuously just escape judgement or retribution for their actions?
Is blizzard scared that by killing off this obnoxious character that they will lose players? If you havnt noticed people are stopping playing retail in massive quantities because of things like this. Along with the awful game systems the lore makes absolutely zero sense anymore.
Blizzard: grow a pair. Kill off these overused characters like sylvanas. Like thrall. Make way for an actually interesting story arc where the choices that these characters make actually matter and arenât just cinematic material with no consequence. I canât believe that such a huge moment in BFA like the burning of teldrassil had had ZERO retribution yet and has been totally glossed over for some reason. Even making tyrande fail to kill sylvanas in 9.1 because of plot armor once more.

Not a single story beat in Shadowlands has landed even half-correctly.
Even BFA was better than this. Sylvanas is awful, Anduin is awful, all the main characters in the story are one-note cardboard cut outs. I donât expect THE BEST story in an MMO, but damn, something at least 5/10 would be nice.

I take offense to the assertion that people are leaving this game because of the story and not because itâs unrewarding and genuinely worse than all of its competitors, especially worse than WoW: Classic.
Because its an MMO and the players want to be the ones to âbeatâ the main characters?
Seems obvious to me.
Weâre finally seeing the events of previous expansions pay off and the story finally, yes, finally, get interesting. And of course the general forums people still like to complain. Because what would it be without a salt mine?
people whined just as much with one and done bosses/expansions like people thought deathwing was in cata. since then theyâve gone the multi expansion route. now people are whining about the story taking "too longââ and being ââover it.ââ

Yup. And if Tyrandi had killed sylvanas people would flood the forums whining about how she was beaten in a cinematic without player involvement.
Meh, the story feels like itâs better than it has ever been. I loved that cinematic. They certainly blew my expectations out of the water.
I guess people are entitled to their opinion even if it is wrong
