Its not RMT if the moneys stays in game.

also not RMT if the money was made in game either.

See some players makes lots money in game…then go wth, lets buy the carry for a mount.

You’re allowed to buy carries with gold due to the Raid World First race… These guilds wanted ways to make the millions of gold they use for this purpose and Blizzard said this is what you can do.

I’m down to clown on the RWF, but when it’s genuine. This is just wrong, though.
Carrying for gold is allowed because… well, it’s an in-game currency for an in-game service. Why wouldn’t it be allowed?

The key point is that the carries are not payed with money since that gets things all messy with taxes and such. Paying with gold has no such issues and can while annoying when done on an industrial scale is allowable.

what if i paid money to sell tokens for gold and then used that gold to buy a carry?

Then that’s still a gold transaction for a service rendered, the real money used to buy that gold goes to Blizzard, not the carry.

i see so paying with gold is fine, its when you try to pay 20 bucks for a carry is when its an issue, got it

Thats fine. That is the basis to how guilds ran ML in the old days lol. other halves, family, friends. and maybe the new join gets slot 8 on LC list.

Funny bit is in our redo…this flared up. But many gdkp I know didn’t even 3rd party the gold even before token.

TBC raid gear spammed crap like stratholme for a smooth 800 an hour. Work that out for 10, 20, 30 hours. For those who like gold…its in game.

and then they just bid smart in gdkp. they already had the parses to make cuts. they didn’t bid 20K for glaives. they let the 3 other rogues/warriors do that. They wanted the pot split money.

They never got glaives. they got paid. Say 5k profit a week, several weeks. So when wrath came…well a question.

what is more useful at level 80. Illidans glaives at 40K or that 40 on the account.

Answer…gold. Since warrior and rogue can’t even tmog the glaives even in cata. We have what seems to be DH only code. with no DH’s in game yet lol.

because esport raiders cant help themselves and take loans of hundreds of millions of gold and cant pay it back if they cant do carries.

I tried it once in Classic for leveling.

It was boring and self-defeating.

You play a game to play it, not for someone else to do it for you.

Slime kitty. Now to me an ugly mount. others paid for carries for even slime kitty .

Remember slime kitty gate? Posted in ptr all raids, released Normal or higher.

So some players said okay…pay for normal carry. I had no issue with that. Beyond that fact it was jsut fugly as hell.

But if old boy/girl wanted to shell out say 400K for it…its their money really. If they took IRL money to token…I can’t judge.

I’ve spent $40 on beer I have hated and eventually gave away, at least probably way more, over the years lol.
