It’s been the way expansions worked for the last decade or so!
TBC= 2 new races
WotLK = new class
Cata = 2 new races
MoP = 1 new race 1 new class
WoD = (last xpac covered new race)
Legion = 1 new class
BfA = Lots of new races
SL = ¯\__(ツ)_/¯
I imagine most people would rather they fix the classes we already have.
Do we really need one? It’d be nice sure, but they’re doing a ton of work on the present classes, it seems like it isn’t really that necessary. Also SL is still early on in development it seems, so they will most likely have more to show later.
I can tell you that I’d rather have them for once improve what is there over adding more. More customization options, a better leveling experience, a far better game structure overall, and better classes sounds way better to me than 1 new class or even a new race.
What new class would people want?
I mean, if the class designers didn’t have to spend any time developing a new class, I sure as hell hope they spent their times getting the existing classes mint.
Of course, the pessimist in me believes they actually didn’t and classes will still suck even without a new class added.
I don’t care, I’m a little more concerned with how little fun I had in bfa and how much I want to have in Shadowlands
I think they are putting emphasis on giving all races new customization and overhaulint all existing classes instead.
Because, by the multiple posts already talked about there not being no new classes, we have already had the conversation. But we always could use another…
I think the general consensus is that balancing classes for both PvP and PvE becomes exponentially harder and more time-consuming, the more classes you have.
There would be a sweet spot, where you have enough classes to provide sufficient variety in gameplay, but not so many that balancing the classes takes up too much dev time.
People argumenting that we NEED our classes to be fixed…
Do you really think that copy-pasting from abilities from old expansions is a FIX and going to change your character enjoyment? lol
Whatever sylvannis is so i can one shot raid bosses solo in current content.
If they fix classes I’ll be happy, but if just basic unpruning is their “fix” I’d be dissapointed!
No, but I’m sure adding a class wouldn’t help development of other classes
If the trade off is making the classes a bit more engaging and different then I’m okay with that. Getting more dk options and customization is a real plus too and sort of scratches my itch for more class-wise.
Because it doesn’t matter?
Sure, I would’ve enjoyed some new class to screw with, but we don’t need one.
I don’t care about getting a new class or not.
Odds are I would not play it so it doesn’t affect me one way or the other.
Odds are you probably would dabble at most and then go back to your old main. So you wouldn’t be affected either.
I think that adding these shouldnt be MAJOR FEATURE of shadowland.
They should have done both… improve current classes and add new one.
In a way some races are getting a new class the allied and pandas are finally getting to be a DK also right now I rather they do what they seem to be doing and working on fixing the classes we have now.
They did a TON of work on classes in Legion, and we still got Demon Hunters
I dunno, Tinkerer, Necromancer, that dragon knight…personally a Bard.
I want in on this!
I honestly don’t think I can grind another xpac with the same ol’ classes!
I could barely stand leveling the new races, knowing that I’v played that class already!
My ONE hope throughout BfA is that if I tough it out and wait long enough BfA will be over and I’ll get to play a new class in the next xpac…Hope = deferred.
Would have liked to have seen necromancer as a class, but… It won’t break my heart to not see a new class this time around. DKs being opened for all the other races is pretty cool in itself. I can now roll that panda DK that I’ve had in mind for a few years…or vulpera.
Not sure yet.
