Yea, definitely seems to be just that. While I’m not totally saying they don’t exist by any means, I guess I haven’t ran into any or at the very least, they don’t post here. I legitimately can’t wrap my head around anyone who’s competitive in PVP enjoying premades for even a second, but who knows. Even when I was awful at PvP, I could figure out what the fun was when I did a few of them back in wrath. That said, you could actually queue in a raid at the time, so not quite the same thing. Or maybe that was BC. 
Feel like OP is just outing themselves for not knowing any bg mechanics and lack of awareness. “Nobody was this coordinated 20 years ago” kekw
I believe they changed it sometime during vanilla so you could no longer queue for battlegrounds in a raid. I very well may be mistaken though.

Hrm. I didn’t start till bc and we def queud as/in a raid for AV, that said… I do recall something weird about it. Might have been that you could queue in a raid but it didn’t actually take the whole raid.
Some of the regular posters from the arena forum do it sometimes. I’ve seen plenty of Glads in regular randoms. Sometimes it’s fun to just queue with people you know regardless of rewards.
