Why is Multishot so late for Marksmanship?

I was trying to level this hunter as Marksmanship. I love Aimed Shot and Arcane Shot, but I just looked and found that we don’t get Multishot until tier 6 talents. This makes running dungeons as Marksmanship pretty pointless since we can’t deal any cleave damage unless we take Chimaera Shot or wait until level 31. Warriors get Whirlwind before level 10, Beast Mastery and Survival get Multishot and Wildfire Bomb early on, so why do we have to wait?

I can’t think of an actual reason so I’ll just go with “because”.

I would argue that even though Survival has access to Carve/Butchery sooner than MM, even that is far too late in the game. Additionally, removing the actual functionality of MM’s Multishot or Surv’s Carve and making it another talent investment feels criminal.

Carve being on a choice node with Butchery makes you wonder, why would I ever take Carve when Butchery costs the same to pick up and is functionally superior?

In the rework I am hopeful is coming with The War Within, making the complete versions of Multishot and Butchery baseline feels needed. Marksmanship’s spec tree has many problems, but the branch containing all of its aoe function is especially frustrating.

While we are at it, lets also make Trick Shots apply on 2+ targets instead of 3.

I hit level 36 today following the “recommended” talent build, and Blizzard really doesn’t want me to have any area effect abilities since the recommended talents are avoiding both Chimaera Shot and Multishot. I guess it’s time to build my own spec or go to the snoozefest that is Beast Mastery.

I also don’t like it’s position, in fact why is it even a talent? And let’s not forget about trick shots.

Mm tree is not very good.

Quite a few significant problems.
