Why is master loot still not in the game?

They forced personal loot because of a “Designer vision” problem, just like conduit energy.

it’s existed for most of the games life.
it’s existed longer than pathfinder.
why does it matter how long it took?
what a weird thing to ask.

I mean if it was a change to help the poor players who were being “abused” by master looter, why did it take this long to change it? It’s not like all the “scum” tactics people are talking about appeared suddenly.

(thinks back over my many years here on the forums and remembers the plethora of threads about how master loot was bad… and giggles)

Played wrath with ml it was about 50 precent of runs something would get ninjaed in pugs. Glad its gone.

Honestly master looter was removed because it creates way too many community problems.

ML should definitely exist for raids and even dungeons if you agree to it beforehand in an all guild run.

Even a big pop-up window that says
“MASTER LOOTER is enabled for this all guild run. MASTER LOOTER will allow [PLAYERNAME] full control of who receives the treasure and lootable items from this instance. Do you wish to continue with this content, knowing this is the case? Blizzard will not respond to tickets or concerns posted concerning the distribution of loot from [PLAYERNAME] when you agree to this.
[Yes] [No]”

And if you click no, you get the 1 min teleport out.

Problem solved.
That wasn’t too hard, now was it?

are you implying that people being dishonest was something which should have been foreseen prior to the introduction of the original loot system?

because i don’t seem to be following what you’re asking.

in order to decide that a thing needs to be changed, it first has to be established that it doesn’t work as well as it could.

i mean… it’s kind of like asking why it took manufacturers so long to put seat-belts or air-bags into cars.

ML for full guild runs only. That way if something happens it’s up to the guild to solve in its own way. It should not be in PuG groups no matter what unless you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the person who is the ML is trustworthy and honest, which in an online game you can’t, therefore a no go.

Man it’s a good thing we live in a year where a virtual change (not something physical like seatbelts or w/e) could’ve happened a lot sooner…just saying

Or don’t join pugs that have master looter if you don’t want it.

what if for some odd reason Jesus started playing wow, and he also wanted to run ML pug groups for a 1h mace and called res before inviting everyone?

for all the years of master looter in game:
Ok everyone I did all the work so it all goes to me!
new guy did his first raid with group gets nothing.
players demanding loot when it is not their spec

So yeah. if it drops in todays system it is mine mine mine
all mine not yours

Sure, but how many do you think will actually choose to trust the person that is the ML, not many, then those people who want ML will be on the forums complaining they can’t fill their groups. The all guild run I believe is the best compromise. But some like you want to bring back a system that had its problems. Blizzard obviously didn’t like how many tickets they were getting involving ML problems and killed it.

Master loot is actually good even if it doesn’t always work out. Its just better community building.

Personal loot is so dead and impersonal.

Then ask for loot rules when joining ML groups, if they lie and ninja loot they get banned and items taken away. I know wow doesn’t require much socialization in today’s content, but that doesn’t mean socialization is bad.

Master loot was never fair when something good dropped.

how so? that wasn’t my experience at all

unless your interpretation of “fair” is “i get the drop i want every time”

As much as I hate personal loot, I gotta agree with Blizzard here.

Some players behaved like children and Blizzard had to take away everyone’s toys. That was 100% a player caused problem.

The worst part is that people expected you ninja. Back in MoP I had my entire raid team mad at me because I gave the Signet of Dinomancer from Thok to a PUG.

Because master loot is something players want and Blizzard doesn’t.

Same reason you can’t fly in any relevant content.
