Want to put displacement on a macro? Nope. “Spell not learned” for three years. Want to use Frozen Orb on a macro? Nope. “Spell not learned” despite it quite literally being in my talent tree and on my hotbar. What am I supposed to do? Click the buttons with my mouse? Nice joke Blizzard.
I think it is a different displacement spell on whether you use shimmer/blink. Logging in an out will fix the bug. Also happens to Alter Time.
The Frozen Orb one sometimes gets mixed up with the reagent Frozen Orb or the PvP version of it – so using the spell ID for frozen orb helps a bit or placing parenthesis after the spell.

That has nothing to do with the mage class, it’s an across the board problem with macros thanks to 20+ years of bloat, multiple abilities with the same or extremely similar ids, and spaghetti coding the shift from PvE talent tiers to trees while still leaving the PvP talents as tiers. They created such a mess with that even 2 expansions later we’re still dealing with the fallout.
I hate the new talent tree system, it gives you no options pretty much as everything is dependent on taking previous choices, a lot of which are exactly mandatory like druid’s solar beam. Literal spellbook spells are in a “tree”? And this only happened because classic was popular during shadowlands so they changed a perfect system for garbage. So infuriating.
And this isn’t like I’m blaming Blizzard for everything, anyone who asked for a reversion from the MoP talents is also at fault and deserves blame here.
