Why is legion absolutely screwed after level 110?

Okay Guys, I don’t know even know if this is in the approporiate category, but I have a complaint to make and I just want to get it off of my chest.

So I return to WoW after about a year of being inactive, started WoW Late wrath early Cata or around there. I’ve played on and off for a number of years and I never truly got that serious in the game. but the past couple years I’ve been attempting to get pretty serious with it. I came back in legion and leveled to Max and even raided a bit. But I obviously still lack knowledge about the games mechanics.

Well, to attempt to make my complaint as short as possible (as I tend to rant forever about issues I’m upset about)

Basically, I returned to WoW, got my 110 main to 114 and then decided that I should roll a demon hunter. I rolled a demon hunter who Is now level 111 and this is where my problem begins.

My problems all started when I achieved level 111 a couple days ago. I was level 110 and looking forward to reaching level 111, my grind was going well as I was working towards my “Breaching the tomb” achievement so I could get my class mount. Which I was pretty excited for as I was never a mount collector and didn’t have a large number of mounts, and none very exotic. So I was very excited with for the future with my new demon hunter and what he’d be like in the future with his new mount and full set of order hall class gear.

Well, those dreams were crushed when I reached level 111 and tried to queue for another legion dungeon. I realized, “Where did the legion dungeons go? Oh, duh, you cannot queue for legion dungeons after level 110.” This basically ruined everything.

Do you know what I can’t do because I’m ONE level above legion level cap? I cannot obtain my class hall mount. I CANNOT obtain the full set of the demon hunter order hall set.

Do you know why? Try solo’ing a legion dungeon at level 111. Just go ahead and try it. No really, go ahead! Yeah, you’ll die in a few second from trash mobs.

You see, this really bothered me. I was never much of an achievement chaser when I played WoW, so obtaining this achievement “Breaching the tomb” and all the ones necessary for my class mount was a big deal to me, as I never liked devoting so much time to a video game just to get a mount I wanted.

So, this basically makes legion even more retarded. It basically renders it useless when you go past legion level cap. You can longer queue for the dungeons.

go ahead, try asking level 120’s to run you through multiple legion dungeons so you are able to finish the quests chains you need in order to complete “Breaching the tomb.” Yeah, they might offer the first couple times, but they aren’t gonna do it over and over again.

And this is WoW 2019, not WoW 2006, NOONE is making groups to go into dungeons anymore.

So what am I supposed to do now? I actually considered completely re-rolling my Demon hunter now that I know you cannot do Jack crap after you pass level 110.

Someone tell me WHY you cannot queue for a recent xpac dungeon just because you are above level cap?? Sure it might be too easy, but that’s not the point, the point is to finish the quests so you can finish your class campaign.

So now I have to level to 120 without my class campaign armor set, also without my class mount. and It completely ruins my mood for the game. I don’t even know what to do now. I was looking forward to being able to use my new mount and get better geared before I went into BFA again.

This may have been a mechanic that’s always been in WoW, but it needs to be changed. Not allowing people to queue for dungeons just because their level cap is too high. I understand balancing issues blah blah blah, it Is possible and it can be done one way or another.

I was NOT looking forward to going into BFA with my crappy gear and no class hall mount. ANd we know how tedious the grind can be in WoW, and I thought my mount and new weapon appearances (From completing the class campaign) and my new set of armor and my awesome demon hunter would make the leveling less tedious. But nope! not anymore!

I don’t know what to do with him now, I might just end up deleting him and rolling a DH again in a few years. This just put a bad taste in my mouth.

Listen Blizz, there should be SOME WAY, that we can complete the OLD expansion pacs quests and achievements without having to beg and bother max level characters to run us through several dungeons when it’s not fun for either of us!

I’m sorry but I just had to get this off of my chest. How many years has Blizzard polished this game, and a dumb issue like this is prevalent today. I’m just not in the mood to play now.

And I know there are veterans going to come on here like “Buh buh Dis is so easy to do, why are you complaining, this is why noone likes casual players.”

Well I’m sorry some people actually have serious careers where they don’t have the time to be as serious into a video game as you do.

(Also side note, I know the level balancing was supposed to make it where you don’t just run through areas in expansions because they’d be too easy, but it also made leveling take even longer, and in WoW, that’s not that great of an implementation)

Unfortunately this has been the case for multiple expansions that you cannot queue for dungeons from a specific expac once you outl level that content. I know it doesn’t help much now, but there is an option to turn off XP so that you cannot level past that expansion until you choose to. Many people use this option to finish the story etc without losing options like queuing etc. May not help with your current DH but if you decide to start over maybe this will help next time around.

Couldn’t you also just push on to 120 and solo those dungeons ? ( I could solo mythic Legion dungeons as a fresh 120 Druid )

nah its easier to come here and whinge about something that has been in for the past few expansions.

Also OP --getting some friends to help you if you can solo them now and cant wait another few hours played to get a little higher .

It’s sad but Blizzard doesn’t care. You’re on the general discussion forums, nobody reads threads like these here… just make a suggestion in-game. Those usually hit Blizzard ears, as long as others have similar complaints.

“It’s always been in the game” isn’t a valid excuse for an issue that shouldn’t be in WoW. It serves no real purpose, and can only work to be an annoyance.

It’s always been a restriction on the LFD queue. What’s changed, however, is how much weaker you are in BfA. Your character gets weaker with every level until you hit 120 and get much higher item level gear. At 350, I’ve still yet to catch up to the damage I did at 110. In previous expansions, gaining levels meant getting stronger, so you didn’t run into this problem.

I would offer to run you through one or two on my DK… but… um… I don’t know how to group cross server. And he gets lost. A lot. He means well but well, he’s a clutz.

Uh… not being able to queue once you’re past that expansion’s level cap has been a thing for a while.

Hit 120 and solo everything. Problem solved.

How would one go about turning off Xp for future reference?

You turn it off in Stormwind. Try Google. And try not bumping a year old thread

Weaker relative to their level. You are still stronger than levels below you. At 114, while your character sheet stats have lowered, they are high compared to 110 mob.

Level to 120 and get some gear…you’ll easily solo even mythic. Easy problem. Easy solution

Found this online for the Horde:

  1. Go to the Hall of the Brave, Valley of Honour in Orgrimmar.
  2. Look for and talk to Horde Slahtz.
  3. For 10g he will put a hold on all experience points earned.

Wrong. I still remember how easily Lvl 112s could PVP/kill 115-119s.

I have seen this come up numerous times, that people who are trying to complete Legion while leveling are conveniently kept unaware of the fact that once you hit 111 you will be unable to queue for the dungeons required to fulfill the requirements.

At this point it’s too late for your character to solo the content at level. If you had known, you could have stopped your xp so you could have continued to play.

People will tell you to just level up, then zerg the content and ignore the story. And kind of they’re right, because, like all expansions, it’s been watered down a lot. It’s not the same.

Another option would have been to do it on a legion-capped account that did not have BfA.
