Why is Krixel Pinchwhistle the only merchant that has shown up in the Garrison Trading Post for days, if not weeks?

WHY has Krixel Pinchwhistle been the ONLY Alliance Garrison Trading Post vendor that has shown up in many days/weeks?

Are you keeping a log?

Please keep in mind random isn’t fair.

isn’t there only one trader?

i thought there was only one trader, who trades different stuff each day.

Five traders, with different deals.

interesting… i’ve had a couple of trading posts for years and haven’t noticed… i must have the same great luck with RNG that the op has :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I keep an eye out to what trader is up so I can buy fur for my Tailors.

Well, I might start keeping a log but I DO log in my tailor daily to see if I can buy furs from the Trading Post, and this Goblin has been the only one selling goods for the past several days. I just wonder if this is something that broke with this recent patch.

NOTE: he is STILL there today, nothing “random” about that!

You can flip a coin 10 times and have it show heads every time. It still doesn’t not disprove random.

If you think it is bugged, you need to file a bug report.

I did that already but came here after to ask WHY, in case its a known issue.

Doesn’t entirely disprove, but it becomes increasingly unlikely. We’re at at least six or seven days in a row now, the former having a 0.000064% of happening naturally if we assume an even 1/5 chance of the various traders appearing.

I would also assume that Blizzard has some amount of tech implemented to prevent prolonged streaks. And to be completely honest, I don’t think the NPCs can naturally be up two days in a row. As best as I can remember, they have always changed daily.

Its not just alliance. I’ve been on holidays the last week so had the opportunity to log in every day. The same trader has been up for 6 days in a row now on horde. my personal conspiracy theory is its a method to dry up old mats coming out of the garrisons

I see it’s Pyxni at present.

I do keep a log, the last nine days have been Krix Krix Krix Krix Krix Pyxni Krix Krix Pyxni. Out of 5 possible choices each day.

This isn’t out of the realms of possibility for random but it is in the realms of “things we maybe should stop from randomly happening”.

The specific problem here is that … Krix is garbage. All of the other random vendors sell something of value at a low price; Krix sells the two most sought after materials (at this stage probably the only sought after materials from WoD) at the highest possible price.

BTW everybody - both Horde and Alliance - get the same vendor within one region (eg North America). Sometimes the Horde and Alliance vendors have different names but the same inventory and prices. So this affects everybody exactly the same.

I do suspect that Krix is “vendor[0]”, in that if the code fails to choose one correctly for some reason, we get Krix. He is almost without fail the choice on Tuesdays, after a reset.

I hope they take a look at it. Otherwise it gets really easy to believe some of these conspiracy theories

especially since they also somehow broke the garrison missions with 8.3 (why were they even touching them?) and haven’t fixed them yet.

Didn’t the vendors use to follow a set ration way back with WoD was the current expansion? It seems like they did, and it was changed for some reason but my memory is foggy. Personally I would much rather have them stick to a regular cycle than the current random roll.

The trading post vendor has always been random. You may be thinking of the trader in the lobby of the rank 3 town hall, that sells some extra plans for the various professions. It is random per character whether that trader spawns (as opposed to Harrison or Magni/Saurfang or your spymaster) but if he does spawn it is on a set daily rotation which one spawns (was and still is).

Today is Portanuus. I don’t think it’s broken.

Being that random isn’t fair, you’d be absolutely reasonable suggesting a less-random, rotating behaviour.
