They did. Illidan and Velen stole most of the spotlight in the latter half of Legion. Talanji and especially Sylvanas and Jaina took over in BFA, with a sideplate of THA WOONZ. Shadowlands had Jaina, Uther and kinda sorta Bolvar as the leads, with a sideplate of angry angry Tyrande.
You’ve had 2 expansions away from Khadgar. It’s fine for him to show up again.
…especially since the man has more personality and charisma than all those characters combined…

He’s older than Jaina. He was a young adult during the first and second war while Jaina was just a child. And the curse that makes him appear old has worn off because his actual age caught up to the cursed age.
