(Commentary): I think people take Thalyssra’s comment in the Stormwind escape scenario out of context. It’s less that they’re no match for Jaina, and more that they’re trying to escape and fighting Jaina would be a counter-intuitive, I think. Even Jaina, while in Orgrimmar rescuing Baine, has a similar line.
(Observation): Also keep in mind the Nightborne have stagnated for 10,000 years. Without access to other cultures or even settlements, ideas would become homogenized, there would be extremely little progress, etc…
The only posters I ever see bring this up are elf players. You can’t handle that your 10,0000,000 year old elves aren’t superior to everyone in anything, ever.
I’m glad short-lived humans are dabbing all over Elves.
Ra-Den was a Titan watcher who was know as the Storm Lord was defeated by Lei Shen and imprisoned . Lei Shen stole Ra-Dens power to establish the Mogu empire.
Is kinda funny people in this thread, are throwing aside the fact that Jaina has had in training from some of the best mages/guardians, obtain powerful items and still wonder how she got so powerful.
The fact that she has received decades worth training from not one or two but a multitude of insanely powerful magic users should make it obvious why she’s so powerful but nope its def because of her gender.
Well duh but people on here will pretend that it’s not true because they lack critical thinking. It’s the same reason why Sylvanas was put in the position of warchief, the people at blizzard were sure that Hillary Clinton was going to win, much like the writers of South Park, and when their dreams were shattered they had to quickly change course for the character.
The whole reason why the story has been sucking so much was because they had to rewrite the story quickly and without logic because they have time restrictions.
She was born with a lot of potential, it wasn’t a coincidence that Antonidas himself took her under his wing. Khadgar, Kael’thas and Kalecgos have acknwoledged her power and dedication to arcane studies; Rhonin’s dying wish was for her to lead the Kirin Tor. Surviving the mana nuke infused her with arcane energy which made her even more powerful.
There’s no ulterior political agenda, she was powerful long before woke got trendy.
Yes, a lot. Other than natural talent, Early life She studied under the absolute best mages. Kael’thas himself and Antonidas with access to all the magic knowledge she ever wanted, Kael’thas was in love with her so he did everything he could so she became better to the point she surpassed him.
Later she continued studying in Theramore and kept a close relationship with the Kirin Tor. She also met Kalecgos , the aspect of magic himself and formed a relationship with him, he taught her how magic worked on the most fundamental level of the cosmos.
When Theramore exploded, the energy of the focusing Iris was shot onto her body and she was able to absorb it.
She was later able to use the Focusing iris although she didn’t employ it and later was made leader of the Kirin Tor as Ronin had died, getting access to all the knowledge there.
Later she took possession of the staff of the Thunder King a weapon with the power of one of the most powerful titan keepers.
During all this time she has also kept in touch with High Elves, Highborne, Draenei and other ancient races who are good at magic.
So yeah, she has a lot of basis for being so powerful.
I’m surprised this is the first time in the thread that the Focusing Iris was mentioned. A lot seem to forget that Jaina was there for the mana bomb attack using the Iris at Theramore and surviving it both raised her ability to contain greater power without the body failing and imbued her with some of that energy. Her hair color change marks this turning point; it was not simply cosmetic.
Without surviving the bomb explosion, she would not have had the ability to attempt to control the Iris to drown Orgrimmar before Kalec talks her out of it.
edit: yeah basically everything you edited while I was typing lol. The mana bomb attack is one of her bigger power gain moments for sure.
Jaina has the triforce of wisdom. Which bestows the user vast power and knowledge whenever the storyline demands.
So for Zelda that moment is never! But for Jaina its every moment her powers are not truly threatening to the Horde and/or would have consequences beyond throw away dialog.
