Ever since 8.2 dropped, I’ve been wondering how a company can make so many damn mistakes. Close to 15 years of experience and they’re still making rookie mistakes time and time again. You don’t listen to player feedback (looking at you bfa alpha/beta), you refuse to balance classes (wpvp and ipvp is wonderful rn
), and are still doubling down on systems that you know the community dislikes (HoA is my favorite AP system).
You lock a broken punchcard that is still able to do 75k+ damage in 2.5sec behind a rep grind. How did any of the devs think that this was a good idea? You allow people to use an essence that has the potential to deal over 50% of some peoples healthpools and is an aoe ability (Focusing Iris is completely balanced). And on top of all that, you encourage people to play some of the most broken specs I’ve ever seen in an mmo.
Gpie is still hitting for 35% and doesn’t have a cooldown. Necrotic is still stackable past 80k and can possibly last for more than 20sec (that’s just the longest I’ve seen it up for on myself). Destro is still pushing out 100k bolts like they’re damn tv’s on black friday. Meanwhile, enh shams are better off removing healing surge from their bars because of the pathetic amount of healing that it does. Afflic lock is still being /lol’d at by every healer because UA’s dispell damage is nothing short of a joke.
I’m sorry but I just had to get this out of my system. I just keep seeing these changes and am wondering who the hell is allowing this crap to be pushed through. Maybe I just need to take a break from this game and comeback next xpac and see if I like it then. It hurts to see a game that you truly used to enjoy tank like this.
Edit: And to all the people that are enjoying this xpac, I’m glad that you’re having fun and I wish I could be in the same position as you. I want to like this game so badly.

Because I’ve been sadly trying to convince myself that all the problems I have with this game’s current form aren’t that big of a deal, and that Blizzard will fix all the big issues that people have anyday now. That and I have 9 days of sub left.

What is the right thing first of all ?
Stop doubling down on systems that you know players dislike. Stop flooding pvp with broken items that are nothing but gimmicks. Balance all of these classes and remove cheese abilities. Actually take player feedback into consideration. These are just a few places where they can start making the right decisions instead of the wrong ones.

Consideration does not mean “do what the other person wants”, though. They can consider your feedback and then just decide not to do it.

Greater Pyro has been controversial for quite a while now. The absolute least that Blizzard could do is explain, in a brief post that would take maybe two minutes to type, why they feel this ability is healthy for the game.
Blizzard’s lack of engagement with its playerbase is easily its biggest problem.

It’s true that they can take ones feedback and refuse to act on it, but when a sizeable amount of players are regurgitating the same suggestions over and over again… I just think that they’ve hit that “unspoken limit” of disconsideration, and there’s nothing more to gain from just throwing player feedback to the side like this. I’m fine with them throwing a bit of player feedback into the trash, but at this point it seems like they’re rerouting all feedback to the furnace.

Darling, the two main problems with blizzard is greed and pride. They think they are smarter than all the players and they want quick money. A long time ago they use to be a company of gamers to made games…Now they are just greedy arrogant wannabee big wigs.

I think they’re trying to maintain the same profitability with a diminishing population they attempt to hide it with alternate metrics. Higher ups are out of touch with the fan base and are looking at profit statements over long term survival and are giving directives but not accepting feedback. Those who provide dissenting views are removed from positions of authority or forced out, creating a culture that works against the customer.

Kinda hard to say what a player likes or dislikes when what they say and what they do kinda contradicts each other especialyl if they leave very vague responses.
Again perfect balance not possible unless you make every class exactly the same. We have players who abandon a class because it does 1% less damage and go "BUT BUT 20 X 1 IS 20% LESS DAMAGE DUH "
They rely on data and not word of mouth because of the above^ , which is why you gusy need to stop giving them the wrong metrics such as slot machine, time played e.t.c.
Its a problem with the player base this case. As Blizzard hasn’t gone full EA/Activision yet or Nintendo on streamers/youtubers.

For example ions argument on pvp vendors. Makes 0 sense and we have a straw poll going that was made by a lovely player i forget the name, but the poll has close to 3k people saying they want vendors. Thats a huge sample size that they just dont even want to aknowlage is there. … Ps i cant spell

Look at some of the other, ‘explanations,’ we’ve gotten from Blizzard in the past. More often than not they’re just saying something to say something so they can go, “Look, we spoke! We’re interacting with you! Now shut up.” It’s not hard to bring up counterpoints and arguments and point out the glaringly obvious failures in logic in said reply.
So why reply at all when the players will see through the nonsense?

I was asking myself the same thing the other day. They suck at listening. If they just listened to the people who play the game this expansion would be a lot better.

Preaching to the choir here. This is all Blizzard ever does, sadly. They live in a bubble where they can’t see anything they do is wrong.

The answer might surprise you…
They don’t suck at listening, they can clearly hear you just fine.
They just don’t want DO anything.
