Why is it ok for Sylvanas to kill Horde troops, but not Baine?

I really really doubt that Jaina is going to shed tears over dead Forsaken.

And anyone else he brought in would have been implicated in his crime. Treason is a capital crime even if you don’t kill a single person in your act.

Was it? I had kinda assumed it was the player and Rokhan leading that, while Baine just hung out inside the seal to make sure the Horde maintained its’ Honor.

Idk, the same way she’d react if she found out that the faction she had just pledged to was responsible for the unjust murder of thousands of innocents and learning WHY the Alliance is at war with the Horde is because the Horde are group of dishonorable, murderous, terrorists that seek to bring only death and suffering to a world that needs healing. That she had been decieved about the cause her father actually died for. That the Horde was no longer the noble, honorable, people that she had heard stories of since she was a child.

The entire Horde narrative is bizzare and illogical.

Logically, Baine should have signed off immediately after he heard about Teldrassil. Pretty much a majority of the Horde leadership should have withdrawn their support from Sylvanas after they heard about Teldrassil, cuz not a single leader on the Horde should want to be complicit in mass murder of defenseless innocents. Not Lor’themar, not Thalysra, not Mayala, not Eitrigg, not Rexxar, and most certainly not Talanji.

They ARE. Have we not been hit over the head with the villain bat enough this expansion to not realize that the Alliance are the heroes of this story.

In my case, it does. According to my Orc headcannon, Derek Proudmoore died a warriors’ death, and Orcish death, and earned his eternal rest. We at least have enough respect for the Alliance as foes to not pull this underhanded nonsense on a character that has personally helped the Horde on numerous occasions. If we’re going to kill Jaina, as an Orc, I respect her enough as my enemy that would not be complicit in hitting her below the belt like this and it seems Baine has the same idea in mind.

Honestly, we should have just stuck with Valentine instead of pulling this scumbag personal attack against the Proudmoores.

So wait instead of scenes playing out in front of you. you want what, only videos or is it boxes of text?

They want the story of the random hero/mercenary/adventurer. If you’re in a cinematic, you have to be sufficiently relevant that you couldn’t be so easily replaced by a camera. The story of the Super Friends should be mostly relegated to the background setting that you hear about via word of mouth. That’s what they’re saying if I remember correctly.

sounds like a lot of content ripped out. Kinda shocked people even want that.

From the viewpoint of the Horde, the Alliance is the enemy, not a group of innocents. Did anyone call for the impeachment of Truman after Hiroshima?

Even Mr. “Oh My Precious Honor” Saurfang had no issues with the deaths that were caused in Ashenvale and Darkshore in the leadup to that event. In fact he engineered much of them.

Despite the nonsense of leaving Anduin alive so he could dethronate sylvanas, I have no problem with Saurfang. I still see Varok as a member of the Horde, not Baine. Baine is an idiot who only acts when someone in the alliance is involved.

Anyone who does not want to follow Sylvanas deserves better.

It doesn’t matter if the Alliance is the enemy, intentionally killing civilians should still be a big red flag for alot of those leaders.

Yeah, there were tons of people who were not happy with dropping a nuke on hundreds of thousands of innocents and called it out on how unethical it was. Don’t think that everyone was fine with that kind of destruction.

Overall, in either the military, or political sphere, Americans by and large, approved of the strikes for their ending of the war. And there was never fallout over Dresden.

I fail to see your point, Truman didn’t just snap his fingers and the bomb was just dropped, it was still a very big decision that needed to be voted upon by congress. Teldrassil was the equivilent of abusing executive power to make a decision that would impact the entire country without approval by congress.

Did Congress vote on dropping the bombs? I don’t think that was the case.

It was not voted upon by Congress. The A-Bomb was still very much too TOP SECRET for that. There was intense discussion upon what city to target. Truman was big on Kyoto, as an important but untouched city it would give both the Japanese and the Soviets a demonstration of the US’s new ability to instantly ash a pristine city one bomb, but former ambassador to Japan Stimson pointed out that bombing out Japan’s spiritual center was not exactly the best thing to do if we were going to turn Japan into a post-war ally.

Look, point is, Truman didn’t make the decision alone. He still needed to talk it over with other U.S. officials in secret. The CIA, the millitary, nuclear experts, he didn’t just order the nuke to be dropped on the spot until he had an idea of potential consequences that might come with such a thing.

Yes, but he acted on consultation with Advisors, none of which had the power to veto the decision he finally made.

They couldn’t stop it, but they didn’t necesarily have to like or agree with the decision either.

Kinda like how, while Saurfang or Baine disagree heavily with Sylvanas’s methods, they don’t really have the power to stop her. The best they can do is simply not support her, due to how the Warchief position works.

As I recall, the advisory board wasn’t about whether or not to drop the Bomb as Truman had already decided to do it but on the choice of targets.

Are y’all seriously using Hiroshima to justify anything?

You give Baine WAY too much power, comparing him to Tarkin. Tarkin was the Imperial Grand Moff and the Imperial Governor of the Outer Rim Territories. That’s like saying Baine was Supreme leader of all of Kalimdor. Powerwise, Baine’s more closer to Governor Pryce, though Maketh Tua (who was acting minister for Governor Pryce) did sort of betray the Empire… Almost did anyway.

But using Star Wars will never be an accurate comparison because the Complicated political system and the shear immensity of the Empire dwarfs the Horde into the equivalent of a Backyard brawl.

BTW, more accurate compared to importance and power:
Sylvanas = Vader
Nathanos = Thrawn
Kalus = Shaw
Whoever’s Controlling Sylvanas = Palpatine

If someone is going to push the argument of targeting civilians to condemn the burning of Teldrassil, it’s a worthwhile comparison. Dresden perhaps, even more so. But not that many people remember Dresden these days.
