Why is infinite research so time gated? only 6 unlock a day?

You get more and more as you level. Im at 18/day now.

I’m only getting 3 new ones a day, I start each day at 15/18 on the bar, the whole thing is messed up.

Oh wow. We did a bunch yesterday and started today at i think 2/18…wasnt really paying attention.
I just wish that if you were in a party it offered all of you the same quests.

Yeah, and I could really use those extra 15 epic boxes, the jewelry I need refuses to drop at my ilvl, just getting low ilvl blue and green versions, when I kill bosses and use motes I’m getting dupes of everything I already have at my ilvl

I only got 3 research today… why?
It was said at one point that you can ‘bank’ up to 6 days’ worth of requests. Looking at the max of 18 tasks that can be completed before having to wait for more, that tracks with getting 3 new ones per day.

If you’re trying to gather more and more bonus XP I’d guess you can do them on alts also? I’ve been focusing on one character for now so I haven’t tried alts yet.
Bonus xp is the main point of the research dailies I think.
unfortunately this is actually working as intended, they said in the marketing graphics you can bank up to six day’s research tasks - 3 a day x 6 day =18 total.
Absolutely blows and more unnecessary gating, meanwhile early exploiters are 10 million infinite power ahead of you.

How? I have 18 available in theory but only can do 3 or 4. Am I missing something?
It’s dumb. As you get up there, you’re like cool I can do 18!? But nope, still only 3 a day. The 18 just mean you can idle for 6 days and not fall behind, but you still fall behind from not doing your daily lockouts so what’s the point. It’s dumb.

They don’t want no-lifers surpassing normal people any more than they already do.
It’s designed so that once you rank up to 18, you’re supposed to be able to do 3/day but yet you can miss up to 6 days in a row and still be going at the same pace as people who have time to log on daily.
This is to prevent people with jobs from falling behind.
It’s 3 per day, but you can build up 18 charges, kinda like how the Emissary Boxes are once per day but you can build up 3 days worth so you aren’t forced to do them every day to stay current.
As someone who works a 1-10PM job, this is an absolute godsend to me. I’ve not missed any possible research after the first day or two thanks to this.

Yet you need to play a lot in order to even unlock the 18 charges this early so aren’t you still way behind if you couldn’t do those 3 a day?
It doesn’t take that much to unlock the 18 charges, I was fortunate that I had Wednesdays and Thursdays off work (and thus I had my 18 capacity unlocked just a couple days after Lemix began). But even if I didn’t, I woulda had the 18 charges unlocked on the first or second day off after Lemix began.
And even if you can’t get the 18 charges unlocked right away, the first upgrade even, is better than nothing.
Sure, you might lose a few days early on, but once you get a couple upgrades to your capacity, you won’t lose much. It’s way better than a straight up 3/day without being able to bank any.
You don’t get 18 a day, you get a max of 18 and only three refresh each day.
I capped my research yesterday at 18/18 and this morning at reset, it changed to 15/18. Like holy timegating, Batman!
I spent my first 50 levels going ham on research because that’s what I thought I was supposed to do. I was delighted to hit the 18 cap and then get a quest at 80 that reset my research limit. My weapon never lagged behind in ilvl because of all the research boxes.
Three a day is just too low, especially if you take one by mistake you do not want to do. I don’t need a million but more would be better

the funny thing is there were issues with people who got 10 mill + IP legit getting nerfed because of it so the people acting like its only exploiters are just being completely ignorant at this point.
you can always abandon the infinite research quest and select a different one
