I haven’t played this game as long as others, not have I experienced much classic at all. I like Seasons of Discovery for a lot of reasons. But I’m curious what people think about this topic.
I don’t understand how essentially a person, group, or raid can stand outside of a dungeon farming people who aren’t even of high rank for hours on end essentially griefing your progress without any intervention. A lot of players on my server who are alliance tend to camp outside of any higher level dungeon, or raid and essentially as far as I can understand grief you for a while with no repercussion and I don’t understand how this is any different from being camped out in the actual open world for more than 10 minutes by a player. Except there’s usually a raid of them near dungeons. I may be disagreed with but I would like to see some type of barrier of some sort put up just around and near a dungeons entrance that would discourage griefing from happening because I truly don’t understand how you can even justify this as PVPing. I have hit rank 7 on my druid while I know that’s not impressive and some people may have multiple rank 7s or have achieved gladiator in other WoW’s or even high warlord/the alliance version of that. Go actually out in the world and kill people, or call me crazy, use the battlegrounds function. I don’t even think the people doing this are making some crazy amount of honor compared to what efficiently farming bgs with a premade can do. Anyhow. any insight is appreciated, thanks.
Killing someone on a PVP server is not griefing.

Killing someone once is not yes, but for hours on end?

They opened transfers to PVE realms try one of them you’ll probably enjoy the experience more. What you described in the title is just PVP happening on a PVP realm which while it can be annoying is perfectly legal on all PVP realms.

Not griefing. That’s what people on PVP servers sign up for.
You can and will be attacked at any time and for any reason. This includes times when you’d rather not be attacked.

When you made a character on a PVP realm you signed up for potentially being camped for hours by people with nothing better to do. That is PVP realms in classic.
Why are you looking at a group of armed combatants and wondering why they won’t let you pass? Either shoot them down, or avoid them.
Who made the choice to create your character on a PVP realm?
Before we proceed with this debate, I just want the name of the person who made that choice.
Just run into the dungeon after they kill you once…
Why are you spawning and then sitting there waiting for them to kill you again.
Not everyone who rolls on a PVP server has this mentality. A PVP server simply means you can PvP. It’s a bit like having freedom of speech doesn’t necessarily mean you must insult everybody who walks by you.
Only sociopaths would enjoy that.
That said, one should recognize that sociopaths all roll PvP severs, so this will happen.

Tbh classic PvP servers have always been a war. If your faction doesn’t have hardcore PvP guilds that fight back than you’re gonna have to corpse run
Alliance throw meta in BGs is so strong it pushed their honor grind to camping dense population areas. At least on PvP servers, it is what it is. Some of these clowns will try to convince you it’s the stun immune Orc shamans that global you though.
Blizzard’s fix will likely be wait until Phase 4 when we all grind for AV rep.
There’s lots of people like this who don’t seem to understand that having the capability to do something does that mean you should always do it.
Like if somebody took umbrage with you walking down the street and insulting everybody who walked by you. Responding by saying “speech happening in a free speech society” is just side stepping the issue…
But they’ll keep repeating it.
PvP servers and freedom of speech are very different in WoW Classic. Everything is legal. It’s the Wild West. The only thing that’s actually illegal is safespotting to grief. If somebody is bored and wanted to camp you until you log out than that is their right.
tale as old as time
song as old as rhyme
You rolled on pvp
Right, that’s what I said. Sociopaths roll PvP severs so this is something one should expect. I like killing them, myself.
thanks for the insight all, i truly did not realize this is just simply something i signed up for but I guess i shall learn to live with it.
No, you can just transfer to a PVE server.
hes the same type that will cry his server is dead because that toxic behavior drove everyone away
