Why is fae a bad covt. for sPriest?

Not that I’m a fan of any given ethos here but this 3-way fae thing looks interesting. You get damage following your dot, defense the shield, and some kind of buff to major ability cooldown?

that seems powerful, but people haven’t exactly signed on to this

so the cdr major cool down is sfiend which is kinda meh.
The dot fae follows your SW:P which means if you cast it on a new mob it moves itself to a new target. the DR is nice but it follows your shield and if you take it you’ll probs just cast PW:S on your active tank for raids and current tank for M+. its not bad just kind of mediocre.

I honestly feel bad for spriest cuz they are lacking a clear cut cov winner that Holy and Disc get.

Agreed. Shadow is kinda stiffed. I mean Necro gives them some nice aoe which is nice but no interaction with their kit though saying that its not wonderful for discs or holy’s kit either. Venthyr is prob easiest with a fire and forget

I cant see any priests who want to do anything at a decent level, going night fae as it is

correct me if im wrong but you need to get into melee to use unholy nova?

They are changing it. They leaked a change from range but then took it down so i imagine it wil come out as ranged soon

I like unholy nova. A lot of damage and semi decent heal. I like flesh craft, i just didn’t like the soulbinds which they are changing

That would be nice. A melee cd makes no sense for any caster

Just go venthyr. You at least get a mobility cd out of it.

it also feels bad that once you pop boon, like thats youre whole game play for the next 6 seconds? which is a long time.

That’s what I’m doing. I like the aesthetics, and mobility will always be valuable

(Especially for us because shadow is a slowpoke)

i was a big fan of venth even before knowing what they did something about being aligned with the sin vampires as a disc priest main felt right.
now knowing that they get a nice move CD and a nuke on a 45 sec cd that xfers atonement.

well,

what if the dot fairy interacted with mastery?
CDR on the fiend isn’t bad – it’s a bit insanity producer, more devouring plagues
it’s an instant ability too

venthyr looks nice but it’s not instant and it has a big visual - when people see it they will just stop abilities and take cover if they can … seems overly focused on pvp too

I mean it’s all going to take testing, but the fae one looks good for all kinds of mixed gameplay

but the cdr could have been PI across all 3 specs that would be a step in the right direction.

isn’t one of the big deals about fae a mobility thing?

Not totally true. the Venthyr ability is good to use before your tank is about to get wacked with a boss ability, think last boss KR. It also gives mana back ( or insanity) and does some decent damage

Same

I chose them as soon as I saw them. Even before I knew what the abilities were

They’re just so cool and fit a priest so well

(Also I secretly want to play as one :weary:)

the NF have a really good movement spell but the secondary spell just lacks cohesion with each specs tool kit in a bad way.

The big allure of Night Fae is Empowered Chrysalis for Healers. There is more to Covenant choice than the 2 signature abilities. If EC goes live in its present form it’s a must-have (and a bit stupid OP, really).

I really hope they make some changes to Night Fae’s Fae Guardians. I understand a lot of priests are happy going Venthyr and Mindgames, but I do not want to, and it really sucks we’re in this predicament. First Azerite. Now Covenants. They can’t balance or design Borrowed Power systems to save their life and it takes most of their dev resource and energy. God.

I was hype when I heard a healer could get a pet via a covenant but lol that it turns out to be some fairies that are dumber than Hati or a felguard.

Imagine if the spell just summoned a bunch of wisps (or fairies) that detonate like in WC3.

Like it could start a timer that summoned a wisp on the target of the spell cast for each spell casted (or maybe hit?) over the duration and at the end of the timer they detonate and give you X insanity or mana.
