Why is everybody in this game hardwired to ignore winning the game? I hate it. I absolutely despise player mentality in retail

I keep giving this terrible game second chances after second chances. I cant even really call them second chances anymore. More like 50, 60 chances.

I literally just got out of an Alterac Valley that was 100% winnable and i was begging my team to PLEASE help us defend. We needed 10 more people to wipe them in our base. Nobody came. I asked 1000 times in chat. Begged, pleaded with them. Please, help us. I want to win this BG. It’s SO EASY to win alterac valley.

But nobody came to help. Everyone thinks they know better. They just run north on their cash shop mounts and ignore what’s happening to the south.

Its so upsetting that im always the ONLY person who wants to win a battleground. If you’ve played wow for many years you can see the noticable difference in battlegrounds and im not just talking about class balance. In older expansions it felt like people tried harder to win. People actually defended objectives. People actually tried to win. I have yet to see that in battle for azeroth. 10% of games are actually competitive.

90% of games if we are losing half the team leaves. 90% of epic games nobody tries to win and does random stupid stuff that doesnt help the team win. 90% of the time it’s me screaming seemingly into a brick wall for ANYONE to try and win.

It’s so unbelievably demotivating to continually play retail because you see the potential and continually get let down time after time by your absolutely selfish teammates.

Real talk. I truly give good, realistic guidance in battlegrounds on what we need to win and it’s like my entire team has their chat off. It’s frustrating. It’s depressing.

Maybe its time to leave this terrible game, as you call it, and find something that brings you joy. There is no reason at all for you to stay and be frustrated. Good Luck

Too much rewards from losing. No encounter guide like PVE. No blacklist.

All these contribute to people waiting out a loss instead of trying to win.

I always feel so bad when my achievement hunting clearly gets in the way of winning a BG. Randoms are completely pointless and cosmetic, but I still feel like a huge jerk.

I wonder if things would change if there was an addon that gave extremely brief chat explanations before a BG starts. Maybe combined with automated inc calls and pictures of how to use abilities like ring of peace on various maps.

First problem is you shouldn’t do Epics that is where the least amount of PvP is and the least balanced PvP. Just say no till they fix them.

You aren’t the only person but you have to realize why people join BGs. They join to kill other players. To drive a banner through their back and feel like they personally won. Most players aren’t objective driven.

Kinda why Twinking has always been popular because that is why a player is in a BG in the first place to have a clear advantage over another player and farm them. It’s an RPG and at the core of it players want to do well individually first.

Yea you are right about that and the reason is because in old expansions there were more PvP players in those BGs because we had PvP gear. Now PvE players just join a BG in full Mythic Raid gear to stomp some PvP players and leave and go back to their PvE.

Well there are some ways to try and counter that and first is to do premades or make sure you que with a few friends to lesson the pain of no one doing objectives. At least then you and your friends can take bases and have fun.

You also have to find joy besides actually a team win in the game. If you need your team to do well in a BG to have fun then you aren’t going to have fun in BGs. I get most triggered by my team being dumb too and if they are all at one base it’s a good sign to just leave. However sometimes I will just farm the Horde and get personal achievements which is something I really enjoy and I don’t need a team for that so it’s a way to have fun among all the bad players.

This is important because players leave at the start of a BG and sometimes I do too because I don’t want to do that BG. You can just do WQ or anything else till you get the BG you want.

BGs will never be competitive they aren’t supposed to be so at least let players do the ones they want because that is why they do them to have fun and dominate other players.

  1. Winning gets you next to nothing
  2. Nobody listens to bg chat generals telling everyone what to do
  3. add 1 and 2 together and you have the overwhelming majority of wow players who have their reasons for not listening to you. go play another game if you don’t like it. writing angry forum threads isn’t gonna change any of this

There is no reward for winning a BG. 8 Conquest after the first one…lol. For the mythic raiders the conquest rewards are useless so they don’t care. PvP only people can go duck themselves(Message from blizzard).
