Why is Every Governing Body Becoming a Council?

First the Horde, then Forsaken, then Goblins Cartels, and finally Gallagio.

Am I missing any?

What’s with all these councils. Have Blizz got a hate-semi for just having one person in charge?

What’s next, Stormwind Council? I pray not. Hopefully Horde gets a Warchief again…

Blizzard is bringing modern values into World of Warcraft in hopes of appealing to the younger sensitive generation.

The first council was actually the dwarves with their ‘Council of Three Hammers’ way back in Cata but they are slated to return to a single ruler when Moira’s son comes of age to rule.

The alliance is kind of a council?.

Idk if they all grt a vote or somethin though

It makes it easier to have someone to fall back on should they decide to turn another major faction representative into a purple dispenser, disenchant them in a big cinematic, etc.

The Alliance is a council because Anduin refuses to perform his duty as high king, meaning not only do they not have a leader but humans specifically don’t have one atm either.

Maybe? It’s probably just easy to write

I do like the idea of undead having a council or parliament or something. Makes me think of disc world for some reason.

Ran out of notable characters and the new ones aren’t that good. Like as much as Thrall is currently the best choice for warchief again it’d kinda be a big meme if he became warchief again so they can’t do it. But if anyone worse than Thrall became warchief then that’s just tacitly acknowledging that Thrall would be a big meme if he was warchief again and that’s the only reason he isn’t so, no warchief it is.

Turalyon was appointed as Regent and protector of Stormwind with the support of the House of Nobles when Anduin was taken by the Mawsworn. When Anduin left to take his time away, he told Genn that Turalyon had his support to continue leading the Alliance in his absence.

Calia should not be part of the Desolate council. Her entire concept is just bad.

You think the goblin cartels and businesses just didn’t have meetings and councils?

No they just didn’t meet before. Like the trade princes respected only their own authority.

That’s crazy considering Gazlowe and Gallywix have been in direct communication since Cataclysm easily.

Leadership takes strength, and since the writers don’t have any, they can’t write it. Kind of like intelligence.

I don’t find Wow to be that bad. But FFXIV has been doing this for quite some time. You join a faction super early on but then one city at a time all their traditional authority structures are subverted into more modern political theories.

I don’t mind the Horde Council as much considering almost everyone in the Horde was either tribal to begin with or has very strong political structures so then ruling semi independently makes sense to me.

Short answer: It’s because of Post-modernism AKA Neo-Pagan Christian Gnostic Hermeticism.

Academia has brought low self-esteem and tyranny worship (technical narcissism = exploitative instinct = group-think + altruism… & infantility) across the globe up by a factor of a thousand over the past 5-6 decades (I’m in academia, I see it every day. I’m an atheist btw, just exposing what I see. I don’t like ‘either side’ of this ‘coin’. I dismiss the entire popular philosophical, socio-political spectrum because it’s just spore behavior).

I’m not saying singular rulers are any better. Consolidation unto Singularity is merely the quickest path to tyranny, but far from the only or the most stable one, e.g. a gnostic-elect-driven elder/guru “majority rule” hardly can hardly uphold individual freedom by definition. It’s all just Post-Modernistic (Marxo-Fascist virulant cult religious signaling & memetics) nonsense and leaning too much into politicizing what should be a piece of fun escapism. It’s always an internal scream about a lack of creativity and individual integrity when an artist does that. As an aspiring artist, I lose any respect for somebody who falls into it and becomes an NPC. We’ve heard that childish, boring story millions of times by now.

A company is just that scaling up + bureau quotas that require ‘diversity of ideas’ including archaic, pseudo-scientific, anti-human ones (Indeed according to these ideologies – those ideas should be promoted and over-represented).

Nobody who actually cares about living their life cares about any of that stuff, nor wants to see studios regurgitating it. This energy should be used to create and engage with… again, quality escapism; As per the premise of the product as a video game, entertainment, etc. People don’t engage with pieces of art that are not classified as such to seek this direct commentary. The problem with entertainment over the past decades is exactly that because academia graduates people who were indoctrinated to see everything through this Hermetic lens (thinking they are prophets that can and should fundamentally change reality and transform humanity…). They turn every IP into a boring copy of the same demotivating… Nonsense is exactly the right term for all of it regardless of where it presents itself. It’s not meant to entertain anymore, but to preach and create unification of thought (cheap liberation theology). Love for servitude = hatred of self. People can hold whatever values they like, and march onto nihilism if they so sadly desire… so long as they don’t try to coerce others into repeating them like a forced public chanting. Especially when it’s literally for C’thulu / N’Zoth.

TL;DR Academics that caused people to believe they are pre-determined ants are responsible for the regressive and politicized nature of entertainment as of late. Don’t expect it to get better; unless you intend to create art that’s different.

Edit: The key ingredient in dispelling nonsense and having agency over your own thoughts is the willingness to think independently, and NOT: withholding judgement of ideas, letting instinct take the wheel and living life by the sway of emotionalism and memetics, indeed like ants and not human beings. That’s the difference between an individual CHOOSING to use their mind, and somebody who has given up the keys to their brain to wannabe-Gurus or Tyrants.

Well the Horde has no established monarchy so the leader is whoever they decide. And when everyone thinks their way is best, they just default to everyone being the leader.

It’s either that or they need to suddenly get diplomatic, OR someone needs to start a war and conquer the horde and bring them all under a single leadership. But good luck with that lol. Horde races don’t like being told what to do. Their whole existence is because they didn’t want to be conquered

The United Nations isnt a council.

its a banna that just yells at its self all while making the united states pay to keep them afloat (although it was their idea in the first place)

How many of these councils have actually had screen time? How many of them have acted at all, on or off screen. Lorthemar’s wedding doesn’t count.

Counciling (coining this phrase) seems to be a sunset/retirement for the faction that it happens to. I assume that if and when Blizzard wants to tell a faction story again, The Horde will suddenly find it within them to promote a new Warchief.
