like seriously guys i just hopped on ptr an im blown by how well designed this spec is wtffff
I haven’t played on the PTR, but enhancement has always been my favorite melee spec in the game.
idk. always been my favorite too.
elemental happens to be my favorite caster spec in the game too.
what a good class lol.
tbh, resto sham used to be my least favorite healing spec in the game but im not minding it at all lately.
For me it is when you get wf proc and you see all those numbers pop. And think that this is before ascendance. How strong we could be if we had something just to increase our melee damage. With bloodfury from orcs and and yea we can just rip. But that depends on your build also as you can guess I am physical build. I love how we play now and leveling every race that can be Shaman its hard to play Elemental spec with how fun Enhancement is.
Everything just nicely flows in to each other. I’ve played almost exclusively Enhancement Shaman since WOTLK, and I honestly believe the Elementalist Build is my favorite iteration of the spec of all time. hell, even the physical build feels nice.
It’s more intricate than most specs, but in a way that feels -right-
(This is clearly all “imo” but man I love the spec as it is now)
… just make Windfury Totem a buff or Aura, dangit. I like class fantasy but it’s the most inconvenient buff
yea the spec is just built in a way that makes it so satisfying to correctly pull off and you’re rewarded well for understanding its nuances
and yea lol my only gripes are the constant windfury totem presses(honestly why cant it just be a raid buff tbh)
and i would like the pop up visual for maelstrom weapon to show 10 stacks but ig i can just get addon for that.
ive mainly only been playing pvp in this game since dk has just been so boring on pve, but man… enhance is so much fun i might even step back into some pve
Because once you get the hang of a spec, it feels more like playing a piano than an mmo class. On top of good animations and visuals, the spec is fast-paced and flashy without feeling repetitive like other fast-paced specs.
yea that’s it! the spec flows so well it feels like art. and those visuals… omg
Exactly, elemental has always been my favorite ranged class in the game, with marks hunter being a close second, that’s probably why shaman has always been my main.
I know it can suck having to download an addon in order to play your spec well (I’m not complaining at all, I don’t mind it), but there are some really awesome Maelstrom Weapon weakauras on Wago io. It’s made playing the spec so much easier.
i play my class well without an addon. i wouldnt say “having” to
I don’t know how you accurately keep track of your maelstrom, I’ve tried by looking at my buff bar, but the buffs move around so fast and so often I spend too much time looking for it when I could be spending it.
well i play ele and resto heheh
Did you really have to try and belittle me about playing the spec without a weakaura when you don’t even play enhance, which is the spec that’s at the topic of this conversation?
I guess I am strange this way but I just keep track of it mentally. And when I do question its just a quick glance to see the stacks.
Take a deep breath friend. I did NOT intend to make you feel belittled and I am sorry if you thought I was trying to.
I did forget which topic I was in, I thought you were referring to the whole class, not spec.
and I just didnt want others, potentially new or curious to trying shaman, to think that you (in your own words) HAVE to download an addon to play the spec well.
I do play a lot of enhance too, mostly in pve. i have not done high mythics though but ive never needed any addon.
I apologize if I came off as condescending or confrontational.
Hello WoWaholics,
I have played since Beta Vanilla and Orc Shaman was one of my first and favorite class specs to play. Back in the beginning you used a 2H weapon or a 1H plus shield. Now you could tank with the shield and I did for many instances. It was great fun to tank with a shaman. But 2H WF triple crits in pvp was the best thing ever. Back in the day their wasn’t a difference between pvp gear and pve gear. So you could go between pve and pvp with no gear issues. So when I got the 2H legendary mace I would one shot people all the time. It was glorious. I wish they gave Shamans the choice again between 2h or Duel wield. I truly enjoyed holding a massive weapon apposed to two little weapons. Plus the slower the weapon the harder it use to hit. So your crits would be massive.
I have always thought that Shamans should be able to choose 2 totems to place on their shoulders to make them permanently active. I know now they don’t have as many totems as back in the day, but they should bring totems back. Being able to have a Agi/Str totem on one shoulder and a WF totem on the other would be amazing or a Fire totem and Earth bind totem or Mana totem and Healing totem. Any combination you want would be amazing and everyone can see the totems on your shoulder to add a coolness visual. Oh and Incase it wasn’t clear the two totems on your shoulders do not count to the ones on the ground. So you can have an earth totem on your shoulder and on the ground. This would allow for a much more customizable shaman experience. Making you a bit more unique than the other shaman in your raid. Also you would be able to provide auras with whatever totems are on your shoulders like other classes auras.
Also you should be able to have a permanent element to fight with you. Wind, Earth, Fire or Water elements. Each would help differently.
Wind would enhance Agi/Dodge, stun enemies, add gusting stuns to your weapon, attacks single target with wind DPS.
Fire would enhance casting DPS/Crit, Burns enemies with dot DPS, add Fire DPS to your attacks, attack with fire AOE DPS.
Earth would enhance your Armor/HP, add stuns to your DPS, attack with rocks single target, slows enemies near you.
Water would enhance Mana Regen/Int, adds dot heals, attacks with water DPS, gives your weapon a healing effect to all DPS you do.
Geezus Christ. Vanity Fair didn’t offer you a 1/2 page exclusive. Try and maybe tldr this mess. You don’t have anything THAT interesting to say, I guarantee it.
Most people won’t get your analogy but it’s perfect.
TBC shammy pre windfurry nerf was the absolute best
