Why is enchanting brutal to level?

My 1st 60 maxed Leather Working easily. Honestly, I was surprised at how easy it was.

I guess that was just to counter balance the absolute nightmare that is Enchanting.
Everything past 75 takes an Eternal Crystal. Ouch.
Also, they are currently selling for 12k gold on the AH. Double ouch.

LOL your ah is overinflated. just give it some time for people to start disenchanting their mythic loot

Yeah the eternal crystals on my server are between 10-12k. They were at 4k then i bought enough to raise the price to 10k and it hasnt really recovered

In the same boat and I guess I’m gonna have to wait to max out until the price comes down.

I also have leatherworking but I’m not sure if I’ll keep it or not. It seems like its gonna be a lot of gold loss for legendaries.

yeah if only enchanters had a way to conver some blue mats ? (maybe 5 x 1 epic on a 24h CD?)

that wont matter once m+ is open tho , epics will be d/c left and right

Yep in the same boat im stuck at 73 cause those stupid etetnal crystals. Leveling tailoring was easy this crap is a disaster…

On Thrall, there are already folks selling Rank 3 LW legendary gear.

I’m just shaking my head trying to figure where all the eternal crystals are coming from for all that enchanted heavy callous leather.

I guess it’s just to get to level 115 then only dusts after?

Enchanted Heavy Callous Hide doesn’t take crystals.
It takes two Heavy Callous Hide + 1 dust to make.

No lies. Eternal Crystals from the mid point in leveling is just brutal.

This is not really any different from BFA… you needed epic mats from about the same point. They should really rethink the curve on enchanting.

Yea I got my LW up to gear and weas sending all my stuff to my chanter then found out today I need to DE Epic gear.

This is a serious slap in the face. Not everyone farms Raids to DE these mats. So either I suck it up and farm raids which is NOT my playstyle or pay hundreds of gold for mats which again is not my playstyle (AH farming). My Cloak was easy to get last expansion and they pushed pushed pushed these wonderful Legendaries on us just to find out the actual grind game is enchanting.

It’s ridiculous and uncalled for and alienates most of the playerbase from things. you NEED legendaries to be competitive and you either save THOUSANDS of gold for one piece or you’ll be stuck since they base the ability of the class on BIS items of that class.

I should also mention my Enchanter is on a class I really dont want to play atm cause Demon pets SUCK for holding aggro. On top of that to get into a guild to raid I’d have to spec inthe the min/max class that I dont want to play.

What happened to bring the player not the class? Beginning to see why Chris Kaleiki quit the job. This version of Activision WoW is very degrading

My enchanter may take a few months to level at this rate, thanks to the Darkmoon Faire, heh.

Except in BfA, epics were reasonably easy to come by, from world quests especially.

My enchanter is likely to just sit at half-done until this gets fixed.

Yeah, that’s where mine’s going to get levelled now as well

I remember years ago when Ghostcrawler, I think it was, said on a podcast that was probably The Instance that people should be using enchants and gems and the rest to optimise their character, because that’s how the game was built (though it should be said that he also hated the concept of profession alts in the exact same expansion where they created the “Master of All” achievement" )

Now I look at enchant recommendations for my main and sigh, then head to Mr Robot and disable enchants that need Eternal Crystals. I’m betting a whole bunch of players just won’t bother at all.

I’m not sure what the devs are trying to accomplish here, but as a now-casual player who always enjoys levelling all the professions, this is giving me one more reason not to bother logging in.

It was this way in the beginning of BFA, though. Epics didn’t drop from world quests until nearly 8.2.

And forget the combo with Tailoring bracers. I lvl my lock’s tailoring, to provide mats for my enchanter to DE, but, to my surprise, EACH thread cost 9G, and the green bracers, the lowest cost, uses 3 of it, plus the shrouded cloth. I did DE some that i made when leveling, to see what drops, and it is 1-2 dust, nothing more.
So, if enchanters really hope to profit, be ready for a long farm for itens, because the dust price will not stay 20g each for long.
Even with expulsom, BFA professions didn’t strained me too much as i’m feeling now.

That doesn’t sound right to me at all. My mage enchanter maxed out her profession well before that, and I ran zero instances in BfA - no dungeons, no raids. I’ll have to check in game what the date was that she hit max enchanting, but I don’t remember it being difficult or roadblocked at all.

This is because in BFA, gear had a chance to become of better quality. Which in turn made it easier to level up enchanting. Gear does not do that in SL.

Wait a week until Eternal Crystal prices drop to 5k or 1k. You’ll be amazed how quickly it drops. I was left holding 600k of Crystals last year, not expecting the price to tank overnight.

May you benefit from my experience.

I remember it being pretty hellish prior to Daz’Alor. Maybe about then (so 8.1?) they started dropping from dailies.

They are already 6k on my server but there’s no way in hell I’m paying 6k for every level up

In the past there were ways to turn lower mats into higher mats (dust --> shards --> crystals) but they got rid of this path. Eternal crystals come from gear everyone needs right now. As soon as people get geared there will be plenty of crystals from unneeded gear.
