But the Dragonflight portal is still on the top level??? Can you replace them
It is such a minor complaint but I don’t understand why you choose to keep the Dragonflight portal on the main level, it doesn’t make sense

Honestly, rather they add new places to new slots and not mess up my memory of where things are. It’s such a minor thing, tbh.
Vald makes sense because it’s the leveling content
Both portal rooms should shove Oribos in the worst spot possible to get to it. A dedicated room of shame.
Ya true Oribos is on the main level as well. But they made a conscience decision to put TWW portal in the basement and I don’t understand why
I’m ok with having the 3 main capitals on the main floor and having all expansion portals in the basement. But why on earth is Shadowlands and Dragonflight portals still on the main level???
There’s no need to play musical portals every time a new expansion releases. People have memorized where the current ones are and moving them would only cause confusion and even more complaints.
Alliance isn’t any better off TBH. Theirs is in a completely separate room and about the same distance from the entry point as Horde.
What I meant is Valdrakken being on the main floor is good. New toons and especially new players do Exile’s Reach → Dragon Isles, having easy access to the faction capitals and Valdrakken thus makes sense.
Because Goblins are poor infrastructure planners.
NGL i was thinking same thing yesterday, kinda feel like there should be a central port to the current exp. I’m sure there’s a couple people out there that would mindlessly walk into the wrong portal then tho…
That’s dev logic tho, better to waste time of the millions of players going to current content than move a portal and waste the time of thousands going to old content.
I’d move the jade forest portal. Used to be with the pandas and that worked fine for years.
Northrend Dal could also make some sense since there’s already a boat in both faction capitals to get to Northrend
Don’t move them.
I like them the way they are due to memory
Better question is why does the Alliance get a massive mage tower with portals like it was planned since Vanilla
The Horde, per usual get a basement with a sub-basement.
What they gonna do for the next 3 expansions? Elevator down to the sub sub basement?
not if the new expansion goes into the same spot everytime. It makes 0 sense to have Shadowlands and Dragonflight in the main room
As I said I would be OK with the major cities in the top floor and all expansion go in the bottom. But keep it for the sake of keeping it isn’t a good answer
Why not, what’s wrong with basements
They could expand the portal room up to the battlements since they’re part of the south gate complex.
I say we repurpose the Ragefire Chasm. Clean up cleft of Shadow.
Not just build generic basement
Also like I know the SW portal room is prettier and conceptually cooler but I find it way more annoying to navigate to, although that’s mostly because Stormwind is a maze.
Its a metaphor for the underground expansion
Hmm that could work, but they don’t have to move a current portal to do that. New expansion portal could be put in the center area a little back from where they plop us when we use a portal to return to SW or Org. And then it could be moved to the next open slot when the next one comes out.
They knew there’d be more expansions when they planned out the portal room so I think they planned on the portals placement being permanent. I always assumed the extra floor would be where new portals went.
