Is this the reason why WoW is no more in China?
I doubt it. Might be a subtle âup yoursâ on the way out, but there are other reasons why the business relationship went sour, probably due to the access that the Chinese partner wants to user data.
(Note: I donât know thatâs the reason and I donât have a source, but thatâs absolutely how the CCP rolls.)
(Edit to add: the âFree HKâ shenanigans a while back probably had more effect.)
Itâs nothing sinister or cheeky, actually.
The name Taivan is of Mongolian origin and means "âpeace, tranquilityâ in Mongolian.
Referencing that Taivan doesnât like conflict or fighting, and is a gentle soul.
If the dog was named Taiwan, that might be a dig at China.
No doubt youâre right, and the similarity is coincidental.
i was going to say âblizz must like china if tencent owns 5% of the sharesâ but apparently they dont anymore somehow.
they did for 10 years heh
Iâm confused on how this is related to China? Is there a meaning to Taivan Iâm not aware of?
See Brounevâs reply above, I was mistaken.
How are you correlating Taivan with Taiwan? Just because itâs one letter difference?
Yeah, but itâs a coincidence and has no further meaning than that.
