they made it still purgable because of how strong fire mage was this expansion, and the strength of combustion and how easy it is to get off your burst (almost entirely instant cast).
They did say they might revisit it in the future. Personally I think it should be unpurgable, only because fire mage could be played in more comps other than RMP. Without the control of RMP, its easy to purge off the bust.

this is the most dumb thing, fire is strong in RMP just cuz they setup with everyone inside a cc!
Noobs like me need to play comps that cant hold everyone inside a cc, and just get the f burst purgeable.
Make every burst purgeable in game, or just make combust unpurgeable…

You can steal wings from a paladin.
it can’t be dispelled since Legion
I may be wrong, but I think mage’s CDs are the only dispellable ones left.
Only if you are playing Wrath classic.
Hmm interesting I was doing wpvp back in s1 on my paladin and had my wings purged/dispelled so I wonder how the hell that happened.
