Why is classic the hyperfocus atm?

Why is it stimulating me the most? calling me back?

On Anniversary Classic lately due to how bored I got with Retail.

It’s weird how Retail has tons more to do, yet it all feels pointless as ever lol.

Classic is slow, but the game has more of an impact when things do happen.

It’s more of an RPG.

Retail’s an E-Sport.

i got bored with classic due to the amount of sweatyness, and now that im back on retail im getting bored again due to the amount of oh were going back to classic cuz there is nothing to do in retail.

Like seriously pick a dang version of the game and stick to it. i came back to retail to enjoy it not sit here and chase ppl back and forth.

I’m overwhelmed. Too many friend groups playing too many different versions. It’s pretty crazy how popular WoW is that they have 7 viable MMORPG versions running simultaneously.

Because Classic is more of an MMORPG vs Retail feeling like mobile trash.

Because it just released. This typical of the playerbase, whatever is most new gets most attention,

Personally I’m enjoying Classic because it gives me single player progression without requiring me to be at end game. I can also kick back relax, immerse myself in the story and feel like my button presses are impactful,

On retail generally you need to type an essay to string modifiers together to feel impactful, for example, simply hitting one earth shock doesn’t do much on retail. It hits like a truck on Classic and interrupts. It just feels much better.

I don’t like feeling like one button press contributes 1/435ths of my damage

Also every gear upgrade feels tremendous and not having an upgrade system and 5 versions of every item feels amazing

Some people are just stuck in the past. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. When your real world is so bad you need comfort from better days… anything that reminds you of better times becomes a focus. Personally, I prefer ALL of the QoL of retail and will never play Classic again. No flight, and walking til 40… not my idea of a good time.

A lot of my friends are waiting for the newest content patch in retail. They are using Classic in the meantime to have fun in Azeroth. It is new, whereas they are waiting on the new patch rollout in retail. I play both side-by-side, and they coexist nicely together.

Druids, Shamans, and Hunters laugh at the other classes. LAUGH for they get pseudo-mounts around level 20.

Yeah, well, they can enjoy those pseudo mounts… in the meantime, I will stick with collection of 426 mounts.

World is also a lot smaller BUT it is time consuming to get from point A to B. and tod o anything but at the same time everything feels like an achievement. Every quest, every level. Feels like progress.

Cuz classic/nostalgia >>>>>>> retail for WoW

At this point, I disagree that it’s nostalgia. There are just people that far prefer the way classic handles leveling/quests/combat/classes/gear/etc.

Both Classic and Retail call themselves “WoW” but they are completely different games and some people don’t want to play a season-based “e-sport,” they want an MMORPG with all the ups and downs that come with it.

Classic is pretty chill, you just open it and play.

Not sure.

The idea of constantly re-leveling or re-gearing just sounds nauseating.

It’s an adventure and that’s kinda the point. It’s not about the destination; it’s about the journey.
