Not sure who you are encountering, but I have had nothing but pleasant interactions with people on SoD.

Oh, and :

Why is classic SOD have so many elitists?

the “is” should be “does”.

It has the same elitists that all of classic has, nothing has changed.

A lot of retail and wrath people that were turned off by basic classic, are now having fun with SOD because the mechanics are more familiar to them.

People talk about classic elitists, but try playing an off meta spec in a mythic+ dungeon in retail, I hear that is a great experience.

I imagine it’s because they can’t afford therapy.

cause atm cap is 25. and a lot of people back in the day loved making twink characters. and currently that is all its about, min-maxing with gear capped at 25.

Hunters OP.

A lot of old heads returning to this ‘side’ of the game.

You got M+ high keys players and heroic/mythic raiders from retail, people doing hardmodes and PvP in Classic Wrath, all taking a break to play some SoD.

Of course the try-hards are gonna come out, and honestly I can’t blame them being that way with how bad some folks are at Classic/Vanilla lol, it might be easy but at the same time, it’s unforgiving.

Long walks back if you die, stuff like that, that isn’t really in the other versions of the game any longer.

Elitists are just folks who don’t want their time wasted, even though it’s inherently a time-wasting activity. I guess, they don’t want it wasted further with wipes and whatnot, lol.

I do really feel bad for the folks that are genuinely new at WoW are are checking this out for a try, they are going to be eaten alive. Can’t blame people for dropping this game due to the community, just look at the forums here lol.

It’s people from retail. Most of them don’t talk either. Very anti social people.

I haven’t had any issues and I’ve been running a ton of dungeons.

You answered your own question. It’s because WoW is an almost 20 year game where most of the entertainment comes from player-created ideas like Classic, Hardcore, etc. So yea there is a lot of fun in competing to see who can have the best logs, best speedruns, etc. If you know your class then even being in all BoE greens you’re still welcome pretty much anywhere.

No one likes grammar Notsees.

Not even their moms.

IDK what game your playing when I played Retail if you pulled one wrong mob in a M+ key someone would say “keys dead” and leave bricking the key. I havent played WoW Retail seriously in a long time.

elitists are everywhere. a popular game will just have more. :person_shrugging:

Because this is where the old timers went to cuz they aren’t cut out for retail. It gives them joy to lord over those players who don’t live, breath classic era. As SoD brought in a lot of retail players to try it out.

This guy answered your question, just not in the way he believes he did.

pretty much this. There’s some good, chill folks out there

my advice, friend list all the chill folks you run across
pug with 'em and have some fun

That’s just wow being wow, think nothing of it and just quest solo.

the scr00b0zrz are at a disadvantage since it’s new. so they cant play it from memory, that’s all.

Lmao!

Retail is literally the result of decades of catering to the whining masses. It is the epitome of easy mode. If you can push buttons, you can retail. There’s nothing to be “cut out for”.
