Why is Classic Better Than Retail?

Classic era is more player driven
blank canvas
You build through tension and interaction

Retail is currenly a simulation of a crafted story that you just follow sequenced patterns to get to the end of, then its over. So many QoL changes to the point the game plays for you.

hence the reason why gold buyers have polluted most of classic era… because they need someone to play the game for them to get to the point where they are able to mentally be able to play their characters with some sort of advantage… otherwise playing legit 100% they would just be the onlookers that can’t keep up.

Two blue parsers telling me bout how to play wow

I tried to get back into retail in BFA and then Shadowlands but was unable to even get to max level in either it was so mindlessly boring. It was simultaneously on auto pilot while also having no idea where or what I should be doing because I just didnt care. zero immersion, all fluff and no substance.

look deeper into the logs and youll notice i use support abilities because i dont care about my parse. im not a psycho who gets all of their value from a high number with no context.

Yeah those are what we call credit card heroes

There isn’t a legit top 100 parse on warcraft logs that didnt swipe a card lol.

A lot of classic is luck… work… etc. If you can swipe your way through all that… then ofcourse you are going to be overpowered… yet they are the same ones that cry about content… that they bought… then continuously buy their way through content… like buying a season pass in fortnite… then buying the levels… thats virtually all the average WoW player is now days.

Except… I was 100% right on twitch viewers. Even included a screen shot showing retail #1 at rwf,

Deluded much? Mr “its been dead since sl”

Keep being mediocre at the easiest level of wow, it suits you guys. :joy:

Toodles

if its the easiest level of wow then why are you so focused on playing at a top 1% level in such an easy game? Find value in your life that isnt being the top level of an easy game imo :joy:

He’s a sock puppet for one of the pro trolls that make the forums the cesspool they are lmao. I wouldn’t sweat it dude owned himself.

Some serious boomer copium in this thread.

Classics easy and you like your game being easy, and thats ok.

Imagine the copium using twitch as a metric lol. Andys have lost it

SL was rough. They have improved the game a lot since 9.2

This is why I cant stop coming here. The arrogance and smugness of classic andys who play the easiest version of wow actually typing something like this. LOL, its so on point.

ITT: retail players having a group cope session. Denying reality. SAD

Because there is literally nothing else to do beyond world pvp and open world questing, which are also things people do in retail.

The only difference is dedicated PVP and PVE servers, which means 50% of that is not available on a PVE server.

I’m not suggesting either is better than the other, but it’s a very silly argument to be made here.

edit:

Other than ashenvale which is kinda DAOC lite, which is fun as hell, yes.

If you choose not to engage with other players in retail that’s a way you can play, but I have had a significantly different experience, especially in DF. When that ugly stupid mole person town came out it was an almost 24x7 PVP brawl. I ran into more RP on WRA in the wild than on CB, but I am still here on CB for now because I am enjoying this a lot with friends.

Retail is not some desolate AI wasteland, any more than SOD is some desolate bot dystopia.

You play the easiest version of the game regardless of which version you’re actually in, its called PvE lmao.

  1. Google meta class
  2. Google rotation

Congrats, you’re now a skill-capped PvE player.

You literally named yourself after the only thing you can manage.

LOL… Okay Elistist Jerk(bet you know who they are right?), I’ll bite.

Since you come from the position of a "RETAIL PLAYER: GIVE ME MORE MINI-GAMES!’ I will try to explain it to you.

The leveling isnt the only thing I enjoy about classic. The enjoyable part of Classic is the world feels more dangerous and closer. Which the devs touched on prior to releasing SoD. Go look it up if you like. I CBF to find it for you.

Wotlk, Which is the last expansion I sorta enjoyed, I didnt die once on my druid leveling 70-80 and I did many easy “elite” group quests solo. The world only felt dangerous in ICC and while in raids. Some heroic modes were a challenge for me and my guild but thats it. Maybe a few heroics dungeons as well were a challenge while I was gear grinding. Run into a pack of mobs aoe them down, repeat. Also having the horde and alliance all hanging out together in the same town never made any sense to me. I want the feeling of WAR in my warcraft. Not ‘they are simply another faction’.

In classic, the zones and mobs are more dangerous but with the SoD rune system this danger has been substantially been reduced and I am worried about this going forward.
The other factor for why retails sucks is you cant see any of the art the dev team makes because people are wearing costumes with tranimog system. I do not play wow for the dress up factor and like to see the world for what the artists at blizzard intended. Flying mounts and dragon riding is not what I wanna do while gaming. I have other games that I like to play for flying emersion. Flying mounts in an MMO make the world feel empty and barren. Speaking of barrens, this zone is great in classic. The chat, dumb jokes and compact nature of the zone make it enjoyable for me.

I get it Kilobumps, your name says it all /sniff sniff. You are a zoomer that that thinks hes better than others while not seeing the trees through the forest. Most classic players will NEVER touch retail.

Because classic is a cohesive vision for a game that’s friendly to casuals.

Mythic raiding is far too much, not even just for the average player’s skill (which it is), but also for the average player’s desire to play. Who wants to play a game that’s constantly saying ‘you’re not good enough’?

Classic has single hurdles. ‘Can you down the boss, or not’. There’s no mythic key levels, there’s no tiers to raiding. Casuals can be dragged over the finish line and get to participate in downing bosses just like the sweats.

Retail takes casuals and pats them on the bottom and says ‘okay, go enjoy your little dress up cosplay and mount farming simulator. do you like battle pets?’ The game design is intrinsically elitist and toxic. It’s built into the very structure of the game.

It is basically just one ex crackhead trolling classic players with his retail elitism lol… I think he must be very lonely.

Dont you realize where you are? This is the forums the only acceptable takes allowed here are over dramatic wahs!. Take your calm and logically opinions somewhere else.

I’m wondering if you even grasped the post if thats your take away  if anything this is a classic elitism post ya  :athletic_shoe:
