Congratulations on getting more people interested in mythic+, great improvement to the game. However, why is there such an imbalance in class performance? I don’t understand how data like this can exist and there seems to be no issue with it amongst the dev team. Are there any plans on addressing these issues? Or is this even something the devs see as an issue?
People who play at a high enough level where class balance matters are also probably so invested in this game they will not quit so blizz does not lose money over it → low priority
That graph looks really sleek though good design
I too wonder why Blizzard can’t just wave a wand and make 30 different playing specs perfectly balanced in +20s, content less than .001% of the playerbase does.
A lot of it is design issues between classes and dungeons. Those issues aren’t easily fixed.
class balance doesnt effect your weekly 10s or normal raid runs.
Poor frost dk ![]()
why is it always hunter players who complain about class balance? like NA top keys as a hunter rn. stop crying and play better. people take skill over meta 99.9% of the time youre just not that good
OP posted from a Rogue, not a Hunter. Of course, forum characters may not represent their main character in-game (changing forum characters resets all your post-count / external link privilege).
idky why my dumb brain went oh this guy was the OP lmao im tired i need to sleep after working a 15 hr shift. happy easter
The charts look really good until after +12, which means I’d argue that balance is fine.
Was sarcasm. Notice the lines and who’s post I liked.
Also just because I post on a hunter doesn’t mean that’s the only thing I play ![]()
lol, spriest highest % times spec was seen is 1.7 and it only goes down from there.
Once it goes over +10 the number of spreists fall off a cliff.
Looks like the highest so far is a +16
There is direct class balance, like this spec or that spec doing x vs y numbers and you generally want everything within 5-8% of eachother and they’ve doing that.
Then you have abstract class balance where this spec or that spec will just do higher content. This is what you’re talking about, and right now there is like…1 group doing +18s and I couldn’t tell you why other groups aren’t attempting them or if they could even do them if they tried. Like if we took that same group of players doing +18 and made them all play other classes, would it still just be them doing +18s, and if it is just them doing +18s is that really a class balance issue?
Did we just not read this part of the article?
The idea of this article is to give a perspective of the current state of class balance for The War Within Season 2 Mythic+ dungeons, meaning this is an incomplete picture of balance .
We say perspective, as there are inherent biases in looking at the data this way.
Specs considered underpowered are generally played less and tend to appear weaker than they are.
This happens as many performance-oriented players tend to play the strongest spec or class, increasing the gap between top and bottom specs even further.
Since all metrics shown deal with popularity, they aren’t directly attached to spec balance, but to community perception of spec balance.
Tier acquisition will skew how balance looks for the first weeks of Season 2.
I should be complaining about holy priest representation. Well, if I enjoyed keys.
^ as i said i mis read it because 15 hr shift at work.
Classes are balanced… for raids.
You know, the real end game.
Yes, I am teasing.

12 and below just shows class popularity not class balance.
To see the imbalance, you have to keep increasing the key level to weed out the weaker specs.
I don’t think it’s a low priority, per se, it’s just really hard to do with so many varied Class/Spec play styles.
