Since the Raid Sanctum of Domination is listed in the vault, why is Castle Nathria not included? We are doing Heroic at this point but it was really disappointing that this raid was not included in the vault.
I think its just so people don’t cheese it by doing a easier raid in order to get current gear that’s stronger

I believe the reason the raid Castle of Nathria is no longer included in The Great Vault anymore, Since the raid Sanctum of Domination has better gear drop within it.
This same thing will happen when the raid in Patch 9.2 comes out. Loot from both the Castle of Nathria and Sanctum of Domination raids will no longer be available on the weekly vault. This being because the loot from the new raid is better and more powerful than the previous two raids from this expansion.

You can’t run s1 ranked pvp or s1 m+ content for vault loot, so just because CN is available it should be obvious why it doesn’t give you loot in the vault. All 3 levels of gameplay have to be treated equally.
It’s actually kind of rad you guys are progressing heroic CN still. CN is a much better raid than SoD anyway tbh.

I actually like CN raid very much. The bosses are so interesting and you have to do the mechanics or you will fail…no Leroy Jenkins through any of this at all.
Even though we wiped on Hungering Destroyer once before finally taking him down, this particular fight is really mechanic specific. If you fail on just about any mechanic, its a wipe. So it was quite a challenge.
We had such fun doing this on heroic and seeing how far we could go since we stalled at Lady Inerva Darkvein. It took us several tries but we failed to get past her on heroic before.
Going back in after completing Sanctum, we were very surprised at how much we actually remembered from this fight. We finally got her down and everyone was elated, especially since we did not have our original core group, but had some new folks who had never been in this raid before.
Our next target will be The Ballroom. This particular fight is really fun and I’m looking forward to doing it again.
We are all older gamers and I told our raid leader I wanted to come back to shaman raid healing since I had such fun in Legion. But could not compete very well in BfA at all. So I switched to my warlock. I missed healing so was grateful to see the changes to make my resto shaman spec more viable again.
I’ve done pretty well on my healing so far, considering its been a while, so I’m gratified I’ve been given the change to do it again. Definitely helps the raid with all those AoE totems I can throw down. I just have to be more situationally aware and not worry about doing any dps.

Castle Nathria is definitely included in the Vault, but if you run SoD it will overwrite it.
If you want a Vault with CN loot, just run CN that week and no other raid.

PvP, M+, and the SoD have been adjusted to the new gear levels, CN has not.
On the other hand, there’s no reason for them to exclude it, just have the CN raid drop CN raid level gear in the vault.

So, it’d have its own category? Because there’s only 3 raid slots available, and having ilvl 200 fill the slots would be undesirable for those running both CN (for mogs or whatever) and SoD.

Old PvP and m+ isn’t available to run. CN is, and it still drops memories that alts need. No reason that it shouldn’t be treated as it was in S1. it’s not like it would drop SoD loot for clearing CN bosses.

No, it would fill raid slots the same way that M+ slots can be filled with M+2 and M+20 all in the same week. The weaker activities get pushed down.
The Vault takes your 10 events and sorts them in order of difficulty (so M+ is sorted by the key value, raids are sorted by Mythic, Heroic, Regular, LFR). The highest difficulty fills the first vault slot, the 4 highest fills the second slot, and the 10th highest fills the 3rd.
Blizzard would simply have to combine the CN difficulties with the SoD difficulties to get a proper rate (for example, how does CN Heroic compare with SoD LFR, which is “more difficult” to properly slot it).

Great vault offers current or around current gear that you do.
Game being season format.
Now that they coded the great vault to proceed as is, they didn’t factor in or do not want you to do older tier/raids. So it isn’t taken into account.
