Why is boosting still allowed if GDKP is banned

Both exchange currency for game progression and are illicit sources of delinquent gold transactions.

Both can equally affect the game.

yeah not sure why they didn’t add the SoM changes that destroyed boosting :expressionless: a lot of decisions lately just don’t make a whole lotta sense

Maybe because they just don’t care. They’ll be selling boosts when the servers progress to TBC anyway.

Banning GDKP was more about appeasing casual players who felt excluded by it than an honest attempt at stymying gold buying.

yeah i think that’s a big part too :expressionless: GDKP was a constant reminder that they’re “not good enough” or something

Gonna be making thousands of gold per day selling boosts.

Can’t wait.

It excluded low parsing players that refuse to pve properly you mean.

GDKP was the best system for casuals since it greatly increases the amount of raids and thus one could raid whenever their schedule allowed.

Well, sir, if Blizzard doesn’t leave at least one avenue for RMT then how will they get all that juicy bot/farmer subscription money?

There is far more than 1 avenue lmfao.

Technically there is a report button for boosting. I’m just pointing that out there.

stop being rude and inconsiderate :expressionless: it’s christmas :christmas_tree:

No changes.

I’m not talking about you, was referring to your boosties, the people you boost for the thousands of gold you said you would make. Those are who I’ll be killing on the horde side

I doubt it’s for any intentional reason, but hypothetically if it were I would guess the reasoning would be along the lines of banning GDKPs doesn’t impact anything but those GDKPs, while interfering with boosting inherently restricts legitimate activities.

100% of GDKPs are tainted by gold buying, and their very existence encourages RMT. But there is tons of legitimate and non-problematic activity that uses the mechanics they disrupt to stop boosting. People farm dungeons for gold. People rush their friends.

Because Botters who sell gold want to sell the gold and /cough an alternative loot system that uses gold interferes with gold selling because the consumables are expensive and players are lazy so they buy gold to raid because they want to have consumables.

they also are lazy so they dont level their own characters and buy gold to use it to pay mages to do this for them.

TLDR gold sellers NEED boosting and consumables markets so Blizzard bows to them and does their bidding.

During p6 classic my friend and i would sometimes put on naxx frost res gear and go fight the boosties until the mages came out, then laughed as we killed them and all their spells resisted haha
