Why is blizzard so scared of politics in wow?

That’s what NE do in the lore, but the Horde always come to bother. It’s not like they have a choice. :sleepy:

Have you read the quest lines and the “Stay and minute and listen” followups? There is a lot of politics woven into these in the entire game.

Charges into torghast and then with the power of friendship she gives up and goes home.

look at what happened to Disney. then again the forum moderation is following the same thing that lost Disney 3/4 of its stock value.

They’ve done political divisions among the Horde more than once, now.

They won’t do it to the Alliance because the Alliance playerbase insists that everything must be sunshine-and-roses and perfect.

I kept saying during BfA that the expansion would have been a lot more fun for everyone if this happened:

  1. Genn stages a coup, locks up Anduin, and takes over the Alliance.
  2. Genn attacks Undercity and destroys it.
  3. Sylvanas burns Teldrassil in retaliation to secure the Horde’s flank.
  4. Alliance leaders are split. Some support Genn’s hardline stance, others support Anduin and plot to release him and put him back in charge.

Now there’s intrigue and storytelling on the Alliance side, the Horde and its players feel under threat and band together, lots of cool storytelling to be had.

And the reaction I always get to a scenario like this from Alliance players was “but we’re the good guys, Genn would never do that”.

Genn starting to be a bit unstable is the only thing that made the Alliance look potentially interesting.

Then they quickly reeled him in.

Well, hopefully Blizzard goes all-in on Tyrant Turalyon and his Intolerance Crusade.

I expect them to chicken out, but hope springs eternal.

Disney didn’t lose 3/4 their stock value, though.

They spiked high during covid, good timing with subs and Disney+. Then dropped a bit after everything opened up.

except the tickers say your wrong… people lost billions in that fiasco and they are still reeling over it.add in the tax status loss and their share holders took a beating it will be a long time recovering from.

Can you give me the exact dates on the ticker that show a 75% loss?

NOBODY cares about in-game politics.

TBH most just stop responding completely when given evidence. But yes, if you don’t. They shift the burden of proof on to you.

He probably heard about a Disney stock price on some hyperblovial channel like Nerdrotic.

There’s plenty of politics in WOW. Look what happened when Anduin tried to form a super alliance between the Alliance and the Horde. Tyrande threw a fit over the “Banshee Queen” and walked out and everyone followed her.

And that’s just one example. The Alliance alternate between pulling together to fight the Burning Legion and fighting against each other. More politics.

Then they are working with Sylvanas, then against Sylvanas, then with Sylvanas, then against Sylvanas, then with her again. More politics.

Bloviating is one of my favorite words to throw at people who over exaggerate stuff on here. But I think I may have found a new favorite with hyperblovial.

Does WoW (in game) really need politics when almost every dispute is resolved through violence and war?

As for real world politics, they have become non-negotiable lately with 40% of the American electorate predicting civil war in the next ten years. Don’t need none of that. Pointless now.

The game is built on fantasy politics that take inspiration from real world politics. They aren’t afraid of politics itself. I think the reason the discussion about politics is discouraged is because some people can’t control their passions and this leads to bans and suspensions in trade chat.

Biden says “everyone is entitled to be an idiot”. I think people can learn a lot from that quote
