Even since the evoker class was released everyone and their mom asked for one simple thing. Allow evokers to use human form in combat. But noo, blizz never allowed that, now they’re finally allowing it, except it’s only for other dracthyrs and not for those who have been asking for that since Dragonflight. Nope, they get the middle finger instead, haha the feature is already in the game but not for you evokers.
this issue can be circumvented by not playing an evoker
I thought it was cause of the racials.
they were nerfed for the other specs, and only evokers keep them as they were.
and they are considered ‘powerful’, so to identifiy the Evoker, they have to be actually different.
Because a key part of evoker gameplay / animations is breathing fire out of their mouths.
This is what they said in the article: “Dracthyr Evokers will continue to use Dracthyr form during combat, as many of their abilities emphasize their draconic nature.”
Typical Blizzard stubbornness.
Haven’t even touched an Evoker simply because they force you to play as a skinny gecko ![]()
you will play as DeviantArt fanfic lizard and you will like it.
I am not a gecko. Now, let’s talk about car insurance.
well what’s wrong with their visage form breathing fire? non-evoker dracthyr can use wing buffet so i don’t really see the problem
the healing is sorta fun, it over performs on meters rather wildly due to the mastery and barely any mana issues. But its very dependant on cast time, and that creates a mobility/output issue.
Non-dragons also have mouths.
They already explained it.
We’ve also already had several other forum threads already re-explaining it too.
Reason being:
Evokers use very-dragon-specific spells, where they embrace being a dragon and weave that identity into power to be utilised.
You can’t exactly tail sweep when you got no tail – nor wing flap if you got no wings … Pretty reasonable if you ask me.
Ultimately, the Evokers are dragonkin beings who are evoking – dragon powers - The power of the dragonflights, so it simply comes with the class. Asking for otherwise you may as well be asking for druids to play feral or bear form in their humanoid form too, lol
Potential Compromise:
The one compromise I could see, would be having the characters transform into a Dracthyr (Dragon-form) for their dragon-abilities, and then instantly shift back for their other spells that are less-so dragon-specific — so it’d be a hybrid appeal playstyle (similarly to how Wrathion utilised both his dragon-form AND his humanoid form when confronting N’Zoth).
TL;DR: Evokers are a dragon class — So embracing the dragon form is going to be a given.
Lizards rule the world!
Ah yes, let’s rework all the animations for the 2nd character model of a newer class while some of the older races haven’t gotten a simple hairstyle update since the dark ages.
Imagine playing an evoker and not wanting to be in dragon form.
That’s. The. Entire. Point. Of. The. Class.
Honestly the blizzard reason on this one makes sense to me, sorry.
…not really sorry. But it sounds nicer.
Not. Everybody. Wants. To. Play. As. Something. They. Don’t. Find. Visually. Appealing.
The good news is, there are several other classes.
Nope.
Other Dracthyr shouldn’t even be able to do this. Sets a bad precedent.
But it is especially dumb for Evokers.
