I can agree with that. The lack of aoe hurts. This glimmer build is based around getting as many glimmers on the field and keeping them active so that we can constantly aoe heal the raid. I mean…holy radiance we miss u lol
I also think if they are pushing this build, which clearly they are, then we need to get avenging crusader(not quite as strong a version) baselined so we have constant heals from melee.
I enjoyed our other healing style more though. Mastery bubbles, big single target with some small aoe(hate light of dawn, they got the idea from cata when our mace would put out a cone of healing in front of us. Still need holy radiance as a reliable aoe heal. Even if weak

I play a few healer but my god keeping the group up in mythic is a pain as a holy Paladin. On my Druid I literally watch tv and heal no problem. As a holy I take my eyes off the computer for one second half the group is dead.

That was something else we lost. When they took holy.power healing and eternal flame as a hot, on top of illuminated healing, we have to be constantly healing. There is no…
. prevention healing like there is with shamans and rdruids.

I diasagree. I use bestow faith that way all the time.

By all means use bestow faith as a preventative heal. But it isn’t something that we can blanket cover the raid with like holy radiance and illumnated healing.
Glimmer is kinda fun but getting more than 5 glimmers on targets is a challenge, at least at my ilvl
I mean thats kinda how it was in legion, but then they pruned it
My experience is non existent with those 2 abilities as i did not play after LK. And back then, blanket raid wide heals was not what the palladin healer was about. Hard to miss what you never had.

Can some one explain the glimmer of light build, I main prot and off spec is ret but when I filter through my Azerite armor through my first two specs I don’t scrap them I send them to hpal because I’d like to be pretty good at all 3 and I have 3 glimmers on hpal right now and at 400ivl but when I read the tooltip it kind of confuses me…so if I shock a friendly it’ll put a glimmer on them, if I shock them again will it pop the glimmer or add another stack?
When you shock someone it leaves a buff on them for 30 seconds. Every time you cast holy shock again it will tick for the heal. So you blanket as many people as you reasonably can by casting holy shock on people without glimmer (provided you’re not ignoring someone who’s going to die) and profit.
There’s a lot more detail in the online hpal guides
The Glimmer healing will proc on him (and on everyone else who has glimmer of light) but it will not add an extra stack nor “consume” any of your glimmer of light buffs (the buffs doesn’t get consumed, it just expires after 30s), it will refresh the buff to 30s duration on the target you shocked.
Ok so when I cast shock again it’ll pop…but only if I cast it again on someone who already has the glimmer buff, am I understanding that right?
Ok ok ok works how I was thinking then, thanks!
I think you are missing one part, there’s no condition who you cast your Holy shock on for the healing to happen. Remove the “but only if…” part and you got it.
When someone has the glimmer buff you just need to cast Holy Shock on anyone to proc the healing (no matter if the target of your holy shock has glimmer or not).
So for maximum throughput you ideally don’t want to cast Holy Shock on someone who already has glimmer of light, sometimes you need to in order to save someone from dying though.
Hmmmmm so can I only apply glimmer to one person cause whenever I use it again it’ll pop no matter what?
Sorry for all the questions appreciate the patience and responses!
No, ok lets start over…
When you cast holy shock on someone you apply glimmer of light, that buff will expire after 30s but it doesn’t get “consumed” when it heals, so you can keep applying it to different people, every time you cast Holy shock (on anyone) all of your glimmer of lights will be healed for X amount, getting the heal does not consume the buff so casting Holy shock again will heal every person with glimmer of light again.
Assuming you don’t override it, you’ll have as many glimmer of lights out as Holy shocks you have casted in the last 30s.
Edit: You can see the glimmer buff more or less as a 30s HOT on the target, the only difference is that instead of the hot ticking every 1 or 2s it ticks every time you cast Holy shock (on any target).

OHHHHHHHHHHHH now I got it, that’s what I wasn’t understanding, I thought it would consume. Holy fork does it sound pretty damn OP that it doesn’t consume.
Thanks for keeping with me on this lol

Why do you say “bad”. The 4th highest IO healer is a hpal as I am writing this post. Sure they have weaknesses compared to other healers, but they are also stronger then other healers in ways as well. Just saying “they are bad” is not really valid when they are clearly able to compete.

Theres also only 2 palys in the top 50, so lets ignore that cause of that one guy.
