Why is barkskin?

a worse version of feint on a longer cd? im literally tissue paper

It lasts a lot longer, and feint believe it or not, AT LEAST causes a DPS loss unless you spec into Nimble Fingers at the conduit table. Although I feel the cooldown on barkskin should be lowered a little. By the way it really sucks that even with Feint, rogues die very easily.

ah yes, because i want my defensives to last forever as if people dont just run when i pop them. at least feint is up for every go /shrug

also its arena not a m+, nobody cares about a dps loss. dying is the biggest dps loss

because you forgot that you could use the guardian lego and get frenzied regeneration with barkskin?

I’m not saying it’s fair. I’m just saying that Feint shouldn’t even be brought up lol.

i get auto frenzied with a conduit, that leggo is trash, im trying to do actual dps with fearful symmetry thanks

Probably because it can be used in stuns.

A good comparison is ironbark vs pain suppression. In legion and BFA ironbark was just a better cd on a lot lower cool down but PS is usable in stuns.

I think if they wanted to make a talent that made barkskin cost 30 astral power, last 5 seconds, put it on a 15 second cd, and not be able to be used in stuns it’d be fine. Problem is they also have bear form so they wuld prolly be unkillable at that point. Just thinking while typing idk lmao

maybe im just secretly salty because im not nearly smart enough to figure out when to pre bear and i keep getting absolutely destroyed

This is the most job thing I’ve ever read.

You can’t be serious.

Feint doesn’t reduce direct damage at all unless you use a talent point.
Feint costs energy.
Feint triggers the global cooldown.
Feint isn’t usable while stunned.
Feint doesn’t last as long.

You literally can’t compare these abilities.

Feint reduces more damage
Feint has a lower cd. Much lower
I dont have to talent into barkskin, I have to talent into guardian because bark isn’t even close to enough
Using said guardian affinity triggers the global cooldown and deletes my energy bar completely, meaning 0 damage output.

You actually can compare the two, if you’re willing to. I was a main rogue for a long time. Never felt as squishy as I do in cat form. And the defensives are actual defensives, meaning I can’t just keep tunneling

You can’t use feint in stuns, it doesn’t last long, requires a talent and it costs energy. It’s not as good

Okay simple guide for pre-bearing stuns:

  1. Download Omnibar
  2. Login to WoW, turn Omnibar on.
  3. Add every single stun to the omnibar you think will kill you. Stormbolt, Kidney, Leg Sweep are the big ones.
  4. During your games pay attention to them on Omnibar. Think about their positioning, what offensives they have coming up. When fighting Ret/Warr if the Ret pops wings, immediately bear form and you’ll pre-bear the Stormbolt 99/100 times. Versus RMX, if the mage is walking towards your healer for an obvious blink-DB press Bear, if the Rogue steps your healer and kidneys him and you’ve been the kill all game immediately press bear. Honestly just pay attention to the stun cds and be thinking about what they’re doing and how they set it up.

^ Good things.

I thought the strat was to stand still and give melee 100% up time on me while using barkskin as my only defensive option. very enlightening post.

Yeah I don’t suggest that, might get you killed.

Sorry Pifz. The strategy is not to stand still and give melee 100% up-time on you while you use barkskin as your only defensive option. Glad you see the light now.

Luckily you are a rogue, and you have feint, so you can actually do that
