Why is Baine even here?

The portals to home are open, go back to Azeroth and be useless there!

Ooh, better idea! Let me throw him into the abyss!

According to Wowpedia, he stayed behind to defend Oribos.

Sure did a bang up job there, didn’t he?

He’s waiting to get thrown off another cliff so he can get a little attention again
Poor moo-moo…

Baine is just waiting to be cooked.

Baine just likes to mooch off of the other heroes and pretend he’s helping.

He is doing what he always does.
Nothing important.

He’s been in wow since the beggining and his greatest achievment was to bring a walking corpse(which is already forgotten too) back to its family

He’s like the Oribis greeter. Welcome to Oribis!

From Warcrimes

Baine did nothing so obvious as roar and seize her throat. He merely stopped in his tracks, gripped her upper arms, and squeezed. He was so gentle and precise in his movements and speech when off the battlefield that she had forgotten he was a warrior—and one of the finest the Horde could boast. He could, she realized belatedly, snap her arms like brittle twigs.

Baine is still needed here to snap Sylvanas like a twig

That’s an odd take for someone who was integral to the revolution plotline in BFA. He basically was the weight that got the ball rolling. Saurfang was too busy being depressed to get moving initially on his own.

He’s had significant impact, that’s why the sylvsimps call him a traitor.

Baine follows Anduin around like a lovesick puppy. As long as Anduin remains in the Shadowlands, Baine will stay, too.

You see when a mommy Tauren and a daddy Tauren…

You know, all they had to do to get people to respect Baine was have him deck Sylvanas right there. He’d be pretty justified in doing so.

Maybe we wouldn’t all think he was a total failure compared to his father if he actually did something cool for once. Every single decision he has made has been a detriment to either himself, his people, or the Horde as a whole.

He’s there as an example of complete failure.

Actually a lot of the problem is they build him up in the books but not in game. War Crimes also had a big scene where Vol’Jin called him out for baiting Garrosh and telling him he has to think about his people first. No one whines about Vol’Jin because they built him up in game too (until they wiped everything out for Lich Queen Barbie’s time to shine)

Baine basically is the opposite of Sylvanas. Sylvanas gets all powered up in books then gets shown as bad a$$ in game while Baine is shown as competent in books but lame in game

This may be why we disagree. Screw the Horde. Tauren First. HM second, Horde a distant third.

Why do I care about elves and foxes? It’s bad enough we let the dead humans in when WoW came around.

I used to like Baine. A lot.

Then Blizzard ruined him.

Agree but for a different reason, iirc Thunderbluff doesn’t have anyone leading right now, he needs to go back as their only leader right now.

Yeah, the part where he showed mercy to the grimtotem three times, exiled Taurajo survivors for justfiably wanting revenge on the people who RAZED THEIR VILLAGE, tolerated Theramore incursions on his land and killed Forsaken forces, potentially making his people a target for Sylvanas, was really doing the Tauren lots of favors.

How can he expect to defend Oribos if he couldn’t even defend himself?

Because they need a leader with an established name to be “beaten” and they won’t risk harming the image of Jaina or Thrall. And they can’t afford to have Bolivar get humbled twice so quickly.

I’m serious.
