Why is Astral Shift not usable in stun?

I mean just… why?

Honestly if they made this change I’d be happy, it’s unreasonable that it’s not useable while stunned.

MAKE THE CHANGE BLIZZARD

Because Ion and the shaman design team feel ahnk is our main defensive.

What we need is Shamanistic Rage back and healing wolves returned and both useable while stunned.

The cooldowns usable in stuns are usually much lower dr. See barkskin. I think that’s why.

AS is possibly the best DR in the game, just sucks that it’s the only one shaman have baseline. I hate that they view vanilla ankh as a viable defensive, it really needs a rework. They could make it cheat death for shaman. I would be content with AS and a cheat death ankh baseline with NG and ES as extra options.

The tradeoff is usually a combination of duration, cooldown, and damage reduction. See Warlock’s Unending Resolve as another data point with 40% DR but on a 3 minute cooldown. Astral Shift sits in that awkward middle ground Shamans are known for with a shorter cooldown and similar damage reduction, but ultimately making it more difficult to use effectively when it matters; no one is going to waste CDs on a shaman that preemptively uses Astral Shift.
