Why I Don't Want To See Other Players In The Open World

It sounds like you need to play a solo player game.

Like in that episode of Black Mirror where if you blocked someone you did not hear them or see their face and body properly, like they were cancelled from your personal realm.

My thumb hurts now.

Would you be for the game making harder mobs while reducing the requirements?

Like, mobs take longer to die, but instead of having to kill 12, you just have to kill 4.

Nah I read most of it. And my comment summed it up perfectly.

Rather than asking for changes that would affect millions of people, maybe you should play something else where you’re the main and only character.

Naaa, you should realize you’re playing a MMO, ya know? Multiplayer is in the genres title.

to be frank it has been designed as a single player one for years now

That isn’t even the point I’m making!

I WANT the presence of other players to be something I Want.

But that isn’t the case because of bad game mechanics.

When I see other players in the world, I want to feel good about that. I want to be glad I see other players around.

But, because of bad game mechanics, their presence is a hindrance to my own play experience, so I end up hating seeing other players.

Why is that so hard to understand?

It was always designed for some aspects to be able to be played solo, but the main content is designed for a group. They have even broken from that with delves and follower dungeons. But the open world? Come on, that’s a bit ridiculous.

Not asking for them to design open world around having groups (this has always proven disastrous when group quests get skipped after the first week of launch), but they could at least design the game where it supports lots of people trying to do the same thing so you don’t feel like other players are a nuisance or an obstacle rather than being something you enjoy seeing.

Play a solo player game then???

Right, so let’s not actualy make improvements to the game so that the presence of other players is something we enjoy, instead let’s just tell everybody to go play a singleplayer game instead… /eyeroll

I swear some of you people just read the read title and jump on the thread to troll/argue with the person who made the thread instead of actually consider the points being made.

It literally is. You have main character syndrome. You want a 20 year old multiplayer game changed because you want to only interact with other players when it benefits you.

If you want something that only revolves around you, play a solo player game.

Shared tags, scaling, and phasing prove otherwise. The world adapts to what YOU do, personally.

It literally isn’t.

I said multiple times, I WANT the presence of other players to be something I enjoy.

It isn’t, because of bad game mechanics.

Nowhere in the thread did I say that I wanted to be the only one there.

But they aren’t, because of the very thing you mentioned.

In vanilla, you had to group if several folks were after that last boss on a quest chain, or you would be waiting on a respawn forever. I’ve actually seen folks form a line in Classic. Those days are gone.

Even gathering node are multi tap now, this is a problem that simply doesn’t exist anymore.

Congratulations, or I’m sorry that happened to you.

You’re almost there, but you forgot one thing I said in the OP:

Yes, they developed this tech, BUT, half of the time THEY DON’T USE IT.

I asked you a question about that and you ignored it.
You can understand how that gives the impression you don’t really want them to solve it.
