So I was sitting back after the announcement yesterday and had a fleeting moment of excitement for the new raid then came back to the reality of the situation and asked myself why don’t you RAID anymore. After some deliberation with a fellow player I came to these bullet points on why I don’t raid (well outside a few LFR and rare Normal PUG runs).

I’m getting old and am stuck in my ways. I do not like being on the schedule of a guild. Totally on me just being honest. This fctor has turned me into one of those “single MMO players” I know really WTF.

PUG life is tough but can be overcome if I am willing.

Gear acquisition. I would be more willing to PUG a Normal or even Heroic RAID every single week if I was getting a currency to acquire gear. A goal to reach. I just can’t bring my self to fight the PUG world or run my own raid just for the chance of a piece. Yes, I agree, thats old school WOW gearing system! But like I said I am old and pushing high Ilvl just isn’t as attractive to me as acquiring mogs, pets, mounts, chievs, so I just get to the minimum ilvl and do those things for hoooouuurrrsss!
So if a developer happens to stumble onto this, in closing I would say that for me the limiting factor that prevents me from re entering the RAID scene is the old Valor system. That worked well and made me feel good about the whole darn thing. It would be nice to sit back raid every week and know that after X amount of weeks I would achieve the valor set or whatever.
Just my 2 cents…
